    Speed warning system

Just realised - I should have said: ".....just a heads up though regarding V2L. It's Vehicle to Load (V2L), not to Vehicle to Grid (V2G) so you can run appliances from the V2L adaptor/cable but....."

    Speed warning system

Just a heads up though regarding V2L. It's Vehicle to Load, not to Vehicle to Load so you can run appliances from the V2L adaptor/cable but definitely NOT to power the home. That requires phase matching and a common ground amongst other things!!

IM6/IM5 Switching off the beeps and bongs from ADAS quickly.

Tap to enter "Settings > General > Custom Keys" on the central screen and you can set the custom button on the steering wheel to bring up the ADAS screen. I just have to press the right hand steering wheel button and confirm on the central screen.

Pet mode / Internal Alarm Off

"Pet Mode" does indeed get a mention (and that's all) in the manual along with "Nap Mode", but it seems we, in the UK at least, just get the "Nap Mode" and "Rainy Night Mode" which are configured from 'Scene Mode' on the App List (third icon from the right on the central screen display )

    Rear End Rattle

Strangely enough, after collecting my car from the detailer after getting it ceramic coated yesterday, the rattle in mine seems to have almost disappeared. I was wondering if it is anything temperature related as well, because the only thing that has changed is the (slight) warming in the...

    Ceramic Coating

Well, quite apart from the fact that I have already spent all that money, as I mentioned I chose this route because of personal, positive, experience of it on my previous car. Just to add weight to that, a relatively near neighbour of mine had (well, still has actually) a volcano orange MG4 of...

    Ceramic Coating

Anyone else considering ceramic coating their IM5? My previous MG4, which I'd had ceramic coated, was handed back to the bank at the end of the three year PCP period. The vehicle examiner who came to collect it, told me that he assumed from it's condition that it was new and unused. That...

Brake Disc Washing (BDW) and V2L

Bit of an odd and confusing choice of nomenclature though. It should surely be called Brake Disc Drying!

Brake Disc Washing (BDW) and V2L

Interesting. I couldn't find it listed on the specs list but that's good to know. I've got a V2L adaptor I used with my previous car, an MG4. I had to change the internal resistor in that (to 470R if I remember correctly to allow discharge of up to 7kW).

Brake Disc Washing (BDW) and V2L

In the specs for the IM5, it states, under Safety and Security, that it has Brake Disc Washing (BDW) as standard. Anyone know wtf that is? It's not mentioned anywhere in the Owner's Manual and Google just shows me cans of brake degreaser. Oh, and another thing - annoyed the IM5 is incapable of...

    Rear End Rattle

Just noticed a post on FB where they had a rattle seemingly tracked down to one of the hydraulic boot rams. Might have a look in that area as soon as I get a chance.

    Rear End Rattle

To be honest, it is cold enough here today to ice up the car enough to block a lot of the cameras, but it does sound a harder type of knock that I would imagine ice would make. I'll certainly check the wheel bolts, although I would think they would rattle all the time, not just when driving over...

    Rear End Rattle

Does anyone else have an elusive rattle from the rear of their IM5? I noticed a sound like something was moving around in the boot area a day or so after getting the car, but now just 150 miles later it has become a definitive metal on metal 'clank' or rattle when driving over uneven roads...

A few things about the IM5

🤭 Ooooops, so they do! Just had to send an email to carmats.co.uk to apologise for my complaint! I promise to try harder next time 😚

A few things about the IM5

Well, that's disappointing. Not a problem with the car, but with fitting my car mats. Seeing has how the car mats I bought from carmats.co.uk for my MG4 were a good fit and wore well, I decided to get mats for my IM5 from them as well. Unfortunately the retaining bushes (the plastic slotted...

News on delivery of first Batch of IM5

No, unfortunately, I didn't. I do believe though that it involves a sequence of button presses on the steering wheel buttons, like a cheat code on the old Playstations! I don't know if @Miles Roberts CG would know?

A few things about the IM5

Well, been driving for a day now, not far but have tried out a few of the functions and gimmicks and am generally mightily pleased so far. I have solved the indicator issue, and as @MG Clive suggested, I just wasn't pushing the lever far enough. I have had two little niggles so far though...

News on delivery of first Batch of IM5

I used black covers when I had my MG4 and they did look good against the orange, but I'm not sure it'd look right on a Nevis Blue IM5! When you fit them, watch the 3M adhesive tape (or whatever brand is used), it wasn't particularly good at maintaining adhesion on my MG4 covers and I had to buy...

A few things about the IM5

Good point. I'm probably being a little too gentle with the controls currently. Bad memories of breaking off an ignition key in the ignition comes to mind!

A few things about the IM5

Just taken delivery of my IM5 and have been unable to get the indicators to stay on! A brief flick will give three flashes and then off - as expected, however longer presses also only result in three flashes. No matter how long, or how many times, I press the stalk for, I only get three flashes...
