    New ZSEV Handbook released

That would be very good if it is true. The only thing that comes to mind regarding this, is that it would have to physically engage the HV battery connection wouldn't it? - like it does (and you hear it) when you put the car into ready mode. Do we think it would really do that of its own accord...

Original Zs vs facelift zs tyres

Didn’t know where to post this, so here it is. A photo of the new alloy wheels hidden.

    Home chargers

No earth rod arrangement etc needed for a standard commando socket install, which mine technically was, with me happening to sometimes use it to plug my Ohme charger into....so not a permanent fixed requiring those extra earthing regs. I actually (shh don't tell anyone!) removed the commando...

    Home chargers

Exactly the same in my situation. Even the 4 hours off-peak isn't enough for my requirements one day each week to get enough 7kW charge in the car. But for a lot of folk, it wouldn't get the pay back. I was initially surprised when I first got onto this forum, at the amount of people that do...

    Home chargers

A thought: Are free chargers tether less/need to supply a cable, to just reduce the cost a bit (not much) of the unit, or to "discourage" more people from using them?

Real World Range of MG ZS EV

This is something folk mention a lot in regard to regen 1 vs 3, using regen 1 maybe more economical for "coasting/slowing down" on motorways vs letting it always regen. I tend to use ACC so doesn't make much difference to me - I don't get any regen lol!

MG ZS EV Facelift - Press Launch 11/11/21

I all depends on how they arrange the cells, how many in parallel and how many in series etc. @Coulomb you're the man I think who may be able to give a technical reason for the different power output from the motor dependant on the battery voltage....?

BMS Version is there a better one available

DCDC TC makes more sense. I'm a bit surprised it's 448v, maybe after a few more charges/balances it'll be the more normal 449v. Did they fill in your SOH on the service form, I presume you've lost a tiny bit thus your 162miles. We've been on the new BMS for quite a while now, am getting more...

Real World Range of MG ZS EV

I don't think most people who drive an EV and want decent economy drive at 75-80mph. I am a little surprised that it's down to 2.0m/kwh though. All I can think of is that you're doing quite a bit of speed fluctuating so that's wasting energy too. I wish I had the time to do a proper...

    MGZSEV HV pack voltage range?

Here is the data from mine (450V Jan BMS) when I ran it completely flat on the driveway. The lowest voltage I saw was 356V when under load, as soon as it then stopped being under load it was 362V. You'll see that then after sitting for 19 minutes and "resting" it went up to 371V.

    Ker’s Energy Recovery

Was going to say the same thing, I use it sometimes and see some interesting stuff. I've found a few photos I've taken of the app, showing the regen etc.

    Home chargers

The other cheaper option that is "legal" etc, is to pay to just get a 32amp commando socket fitted outside (on it's own circuit), then buy & use the Ohme with commando plug for £199 on Octopus energy offer.

    Home chargers

Nothing wrong with just using the granny lead if it suits your needs which is does, you're right to not bother with the expense of getting a fast charger fitted. From what I've read on some FB groups, some new EV buyers think it is necessary to have a home fast charger & just get one installed...

BMS Version is there a better one available

Our car went in for its first service yesterday, just over 15,000 miles since February. Everything ticked on the check service list, no SOH% recorded, but only paid £79.80 for the service so I'm happy with that! I'll check out my software versions this weekend to see if anything has been...

MG ZS EV Facelift - Have you ordered?

Im pretty sure Miles said to the best of his knowledge, all versions would get the OTA updates. I don't think we'll know until someone actually gets a car what the OTA updates includes. The "connect" adds hardly anything personally I believe, unless you want Amazon music - but until we know the...

MG ZS EV Owner shame on you

We'll have to agree on having differing opinions on this one. I do think it is very fair to also bill by time. From a business perspective, companies installing/operating the chargers, need to make a profit otherwise they will not install them - and we need them to install more. Their costs...

MG ZS EV Owner shame on you

I don't really understand why the reluctance against billing per minute plus per kWh. As long as it's is fair - in other words works out about the same as what it costs us now, then I can't see the problem, and it fixes the issues caused by folk staying plugged in for excessive amounts of time...

MG ZS EV Owner shame on you

I do use all of the charger/route apps, zap map being my favourite. It would have involved me taking something like a 10min extra detour to get to another charging station if I had've stopped additionally, forget that extra hassle, especially should it not be working when I get there thus...
