Problem is they don't buy the gas to generate electricity today, at todays prices. They'll have placed orders literally years ago saying to buy X amount of gas in Y months. It'll take a few months for the prices to settle down again and for that to filter through to us.

Seen a few posts on the social medias that dealers aren't expecting any cars for at least the next few months, and that MG will be making an announcement. Suppose it's too much to hope the announcement is they're fulfilling lease orders for a few months :/

That would be great, and a perfectly valid criticism of MG in particular and Vanarama/Greenhous for not pushing harder to get deliveries.

Literally a minute ago. So if my order, to MG, was placed the same day I made it I'm looking at mid June '23 before I lose the grant. Always the possibility they placed it a few weeks later, as it was close to Xmas, so may even be end of June, mid July...

Good news for Vanarama customers, like me, as that should keep us eligible for the grant. Unless they're screwed over by MG even more than they have been so far...

The dealer is Greenhous Shrewsbury so you might be able to get it off them? I suspect that because the buyer is actually Vanarama the first issue is that you're not technically the customer, and second it's likely Vanarama will allocate the actual vehicles when they arrive?

If only a 10th of the current orders cancel that's a ~£14k direct loss for them (£40k if you look at the full price). Legally, and arguably morally, you're not entitled to a free charger no matter how sad the whole thing has made you.

Had the "sending you a new contract" call last night. One thing they did say, and I didn't really pick up on it until after, was they're seeing deliveries of ZS EVs but I don't know if he was speaking generally or if Vanarama have seen some.

Vanarama aren't a dealer, they're a broker. Their dealer is Greenhaus in Shrewsbury who, as the official PDI company for MG you would expect might be able to get some cars when they're delivered.

You'd hope they already are but asking as a constituent and spreading that message over many MPs will, hopefully, be more likely to get results.
