Is entirely possible either the port is faulty or the cable has a manufacturing fault. I've had better luck with the fabric weave covered cables, they tend to twist less. Also the ones with the 90° USB C plugs get bent less.

Not an MG specific problem this one, I went through tonnes of cables with AA in my old SEAT. AA also seems to have got less reliable over the last 5 years.

Nextbase do a hard wire kit. It has fuse base that you insert into the fuse board then the fuse that was in the board slots into the kit so you still have a fuse circuit and the camera can draw power. Have worded it badly but is simple.

I get the feeling the software was produced by someone who doesn't drive or hates cars! So many things where a simple tweak would make the cars so much more user friendly.

None on the Pre-Facelift I don't recall seeing them on the spec list of the facelift, that has the 360° camera.
