What lead were you using when plugged in last? The lead (strictly the signalling resistor in it) defines the maximum current allowed. If you are using a 16A lead (which will be thinner and typically has 3x2.5 rather than 3x6.5 printed on it) then the car will not allow you to draw more than that.
The summary answer is that it was only launched in China in September, and that SAIC sell in small numbers due to a poor reputation for quality.
Even if the issues have been flagged up to the factory there remains the issue that cars being delivered now in the UK predate that launch...
It's clear that on the MG4 all of the differences are physical rather than "just" software switches. So there is a different wiring loom with nothing for rear speakers or a reversing camera.
As @the briggie , the gloves are off.
Contact MG UK and copy them in on all of the correspondence to date - let them know that you'll be involving them if it goes to court.
Also contact your local Trading Standards to ask if there is history with this firm.
Exactly. With our previous MG5 we were offered a choice of registration numbers from a list of around 30 consecutive ones about two weeks before the car even arrived at the dealers, yet the car was registered on the day of collection.
They test the basic model then assume that the higher models are as good, rather than the other way around.
What bugs me is that they aren't worried about how usable the systems are - for example phantom braking on AEB doesn't worry them even if it results in drivers turning it off.
The 30 days thing causes strange behaviour. I waited until the last day for some movement on the faults with mine but got the impression that I was being fobbed off to get me past that date. So I jumped.
Frankly I think that the faults were soluble (I think that I had fixed one myself but hadn't...
MG don't want you building one on the cheap. Have you noticed that evocations of products from other companies are quickly available from China, but not of Chinese Government owned SAIC?
Moi? I am a partially satisfied customer - my MG5 was excellent and just worked, my rejected MG4 could have...
Pulse charge points don't have a great reputation for reliability.
They have updated the charge point recently but it still appears to have no support for solar. They are offering deals at the moment to lure you onto a subscription for their public network.

Dealers workshops must be getting very busy now with all this rectification work, much of which must be very hard to identify being intermittent problems.
The issue of the SE's lack of rear speakers, the absence of wiring for them, and any dealer fit options seems to come up daily. The official answer appears to be to buy a Trophy.
MG being a listening and responsive organisation will no doubt address this soon.
It's not just the warranty, it's the fact that Tesla react to requests. It probably helps that they don't have dealers or an importer, it's vertically integrated.
Not everyone is bothered about having a car from new, so for some of us it's a very real choice.
@Stageshoot reported this in his car and it being due to go in to be sorted. But I don't know the outcome.
Have you got either the undertray scoop or is it loose or deformed?
Interesting, I'm tempted to the dark side with Tesla as well.
Your two MGs were very close registration numbers considering that they came from different dealers.
Mine went back to Chorley with just under 2,000 miles on it, a blue SE SR PO72ZJK.
There's a number of low mileage cars coming up...
Presumably the OP is asking whether that dealer has sold any? I thought that all dealers had an initial allocation in September so I find it inconceivable that they haven't sold those.
BP are about the worst company to deal with and run a very poor network of public charge points. But they do make good offers to manufacturers.
What features do you need from a charge point and does this unit offer them?
Are they not the 18" ones available in China as well? The "no options" approach taken by MG UK means that we don't have them as an option here.
I wonder how much range they cost? If they are just on the Luxury/Trophy then it'll be getting close to SR range. ;)
I suspect that @siteguru is correct and that you have missed the 30 days from a legal perspective. But it is not beyond belief that the garage will recognise the right thing in this case. I'd write to the MD of the dealer group setting out the issues and formally reject the car.
