At places like the White rose centre, where there are multiple chargers installed, they are on an array system which balances the load. There is never enough power for all cars plugged in to pull 32A. When I worked at Pod Point it was a recurring complaint from customers, not understanding the infrastructure required to supply all chargers with all the power all the time was simply too expensive for commercial owners to want to fork out for. Pod Point do not own ANY chargers, they operate and install them on behalf of companies such as Tesco, Lidl, DPD etc

Is that only showing a max of 16a charging? That only gives 3.7kwh max. You need 32a to get 7kw charging? What are you plugged into?

What lead were you using when plugged in last? The lead (strictly the signalling resistor in it) defines the maximum current allowed. If you are using a 16A lead (which will be thinner and typically has 3x2.5 rather than 3x6.5 printed on it) then the car will not allow you to draw more than that.

The car and charger communicate via the cable to determine charge rate. It should show 32a if you are on a charger supplying 7kw

6.2kW at the car is around what I get from my home wall box ... usually a little bit more (~6.3kW) which translates to ~6.8kW at the wall box, so 0.5kW of "losses" during charging (or ~92% charging efficiency).

Good, so cable or charger. You need to check the next time you plug into a solo charger to see what the car is pulling
