That is shocking! The ZS EV mk2 is a million miles from that. It has quirks, but is always drivable. I had a bunch of updates run on the car just before I went on holiday - they may have fixed a number of issues I’ve had before.
Having the car start up happily has certainly helped me trust it...
Car started up fine. 12v battery was up to 13.8 when I picked it up.
So my conclusion is that the car hibernates after 7 days.
This makes the “find my car” feature a bit pointless as without connecting to the car, it forgets where the car was…
Still - happy the 12v was healthy and the main...
Whilst driving, I’ve had the infotainment crash on me. I’ve had all security systems switch off whilst driving. Music sometimes starts by itself and sometimes stops by itself. The 12v battery seems to have dipped too low for the car to respond. I’ve read of door close sensors confusing the...
I was checking daily and ready to run the air con to boost the 12v battery.
Once the 12v battery did go up by itself from one day to the next.
However, without running the air con, the 12v battery level did go up across 2 days, so it looked like it was topping itself up.
Currently I can’t...
Sure - computers are fine, But when a car manufacturer doesn’t do things right and allows a small battery to get critically low when it’s so close to a huge battery that could top it up, it’s worth keeping an eye on things. It certainly shouldn’t behave the way it is now.
If the car starts...
The 12v did go up from one day to the other, so I assumed it was being topped up from the big battery (as you’d expect).
Also, when I ran the air con (as suggested on this forum somewhere) it did also boost the 12v battery.
My daily check was specifically to make sure the 12v didn’t get too...
Another possibility that just dawned on me: the last contact was on the 31st of July. I wonder if the coms / infotainment hibernate unless the car is switched on in a given month?
I’m really just hoping the 12v battery hasn’t gone so low that the car won’t start when I get back to it. Trying...
I’ve left my car with 67% battery for over a week and was checking the status from day to day to check the internal temperature making sure it didn’t get too high.
I ran the air con remotely once, and the 12v battery level went up a bit in the process.
I checked the 12v level the next day and...
Oh - I was not aware the light comes back after 750 miles (I’ve not driven that far since the updates). That’s a very annoying bug.
I’m going to try to get an updated list of all updates from my dealer in a week or so when I can get to them (assuming they are happy to share the knowledge - I...
I think the service light comes on as the cars (or at least the infotainment) were originally built about a year ago and this the sign comes up.
For me, a trip to my dealer (and various updates to 5 different parts of the software) resolved the problem.
I have the 622 working fine on the MG’s mirror USB connector. (Don’t have the rear camera but don’t think that would make a huge difference as highlighted by the other members)
Hi - there’s a few things you can try:
1 - try it at another location - perhaps the phone signal (for the car’s sim) is weak
2 - reboot the infotainment (press the physical “home” button for 10 seconds) - turning things off and on often cures many tech gremlins.
3 - ensure all updates have...
I’ve had my car since the beginning of the month.
Prior to picking it up, I harassed the salesman in Hull relentlessly that I needed to make sure all updates were run on the car as I was worried about bricking it on a fast charger. He kept reassuring me that it was all normal part of the prep...
I’ve set a custom greeting on mine which makes me chuckle:
“Hello silly human. Let’s go!”
I’m currently getting my “needs service” light sorted out at the dealer - I wonder if the mechanics found it funny?
My date announcement seems to kick off randomly sometimes well into the journey - but...
If in doubt - since I think it’s all connected - rebooting the infotainment (hold the physical home button down 10 seconds) could also resolve issues.
Ever since I’ve been driving locally without the CarPlay connected the car seems to have been behaving. I had a bad cable that was causing...
FYI - I'm planning a 2 hour trip into the heart of London and back today in one charge with the AC on.
It's 108 miles total so should be a doddle for the LR - we'll see. ( I already have the TFL Cleaner Vehicle 100% congestion charge discount sorted out (£10/year) )
With the Nissan I did this...
