Yes you have to take into account the type of dash cam you want. Some want a permanent live feed so that it will record if the car is hit even at night. The OBD adapters have a switch that changes mode from 24 hour or until 5 mins after the car has turned off, and a battery monitor , so if the...
If you don't want the mess of finding and actually getting to the fuses then i used a OBD power cable .. Search for OBD Power Cable for Dash Camera 24 Hours and you will find them . Simply put it in the OBD port ( below the steering wheel) connect to you dash cam ..away you go ..simple and easy.
It's a known issue by MG ..see thread
Door mirrors and windows issue..help!
Basically it's a control unit problem and it needs changing from what the thread says. You do not need to pay anyone to diagnose it. The dealer should be dealing with it under warranty.
The HS phev only charges on AC only.
Onboard it only has a 3.6 KW charger , so if its a tesla AC charging point ( 7kw or 22 KW) then it will charge from it at 3.6KW
Hi Bob one thing to remember is that if you have not selected EV only mode on ( EV button by the gear stick) then at 24mph it automatically starts the ICE( or if the heater is on , as it needs the heat from the ICE to work , like a normal ICE car)
If you do a long journey in ICE then when you...
Well that's one person's view, mine is different, I love my phev. It suits the way I use it, lots on EV only ,and the few times I drive a long way , fill up and go. I am prepared for the "hit" of having to lug around the engine you are not using at the time but it's worth it for me ( not for...
yes got a card through the post from octopus ( without actually asking for one) myself and trying to work out if its really usable for my PHEV as the cost on 7kw chargers are quite high at the moment.
I work it out in a simple way ( not saying this is right or wrong) , and i use the figure of 35...
Hi stoneyev a few people on here have said the same but it has not affected anything.
Unlike a GOM ( guessometer) on an ev that changes depending on how you drive it , this does not appear to be the case on the PHEV. Its a figure that is pre figured so a certain battery = miles.
As an aside in...
In my case its both. Obviously if you have used all the battery power and its on 0% then its a full charge. Other days you may have 10 miles left but know the next day you will be driving more than 10 miles , then you might as well fully charge it ready for the next day.
In my case when I...
Hi Seawolf yes it can be confusing , and we all need to understand cash especially in this economic fuel crisis we are in lol.
So on my smart meter display , i only look at "usage now" , and that shows the amount of electricity the house is using at that time.
Personally i don't look at the cost...
hi seawolf you stated " I tended to just leave it plugged in for days at a time, until I checked with my smart meter, and even when the car was showing 100% charge, there was still electricity running into it at times at about 80p an hour !"
If you are seeing 80p an hour, then depending on your...
Hi Tabby
As the granny charger draws about 2.4 kw ( what i see on my electricity usage screen) thats about 10A continious usage. I needed a 10m extension lead and I remember reading early on in the forum someone recommended
PRO XT 13A 1-GANG UNSWITCHED EXTENSION LEAD 10M
from screwfix.
I...
It takes about 5 to fully charge from 0 using the granny lead. So depending if you have a drive and cheap overnight electricity you may need to think how you will change it ( especially with dark nights).
Personally i do the following ( luckily i have a drive).
I have a 10m waterproof extension...
As mentioned before, if you put the HVAC on LO then the ice will not start when the fan comes on ,but it blows the outside air in.
When it's frosty I start the car and put the HVAC onto 18-20 c ( the ice starts) and Scape the windows , then once I set off I manually switch to ev mode. If the...
