Your car is going to need an update (probably only software) but I cant believe that the dealer doesn't know about the issue. It definitely doesn't need an investigation, it has been investigated to death for about 2 years.
You should perhaps consider looking at other dealers.
I don't know exactly where you are in Wiltshire but there is an open Tesla supercharger at Amesbury or a few around Bristol. Get yourself set up on the Tesla app, add a payment method to it and try to charge your car. If the car comes up with an error about the grid being unsuitable then the car...
It was only easier if you had something else to do for the hour it took to charge. You will get to where you want to go much quicker if you charge to about 80%.
That looks quite odd. Weren't the Excite and Exclusive pre facelift in the UK? Where have they been hiding if 11,500 of them got registered in 2024. Or, are the model names different in other parts of the UK?
Later......... Sorry, misunderstood the data. It is the number currently licenced or...
I don't think that is the case on a Trophy. It doesn't seem to have any mechanism for opening the boot. Also, if you have the rear seat folded down it is possible to throw your coat so far into the car that the boot wont open. (Hurrah for the app to unlock the car)
In my previous car that was the case. In the MG5, not so much. It doesn't seem capable of keeping the car at a desired temperature. In general it is too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.
The rest of the car more than makes up for it though.
My best guess would be that the software update did a full reset and that the update probably didn't actually do anything. But I suppose if they did an update and now the problem has gone away then it's been a success.
My Trophy did something similar for a while when they updated the app. It is fine now but during that time the solution was to change the temperature setting after turning the HVAC on. I would click it up one degree and then back down again the next day.
The V2L can be really very useful. Once you have mains power available everywhere you can take your car you think of all sorts of uses. (powering the freezer during a power cut is one that come to mind.)
The Tesla app is a bit of a faff to set up. I'd recommend anyone thinking of it to set it up at home well in advance of needing it. Once set up, it is very good, giving real time updates of charger availability.
Also a good idea to get a 3 phase 32amp cable if you are thinking of using it out and about. Some commercial charging sites have 3 phase and they will charge the car at 11kW.
I just saw this on there website:
Does my vehicle require an annual maintenance service?
Your Tesla vehicle does not require annual maintenance or regular fluid changes. Check your owner’s manual for latest maintenance recommendations for your vehicle.
Although elsewhere it suggests that the...
Such a shame that you didn't have a choice of dealer. They are either incompetent or money-grabbing and you don't really want either when getting your car looked at.
Although they are just brakes, someone on here had a garage badly work on their rear brakes and messed up the electronic braking controller, which had to be replaced, and MG weren't interested in that being a warranty claim.
