I used a spare 25m mains cable from my motorhome rated at 16A and fitted a 13A socket for a couple of weeks until I got my Hypervolt charger installing .
I had 'smart' meters installed by Octopus recently. They renewed the earth bonding for our gas supply at the same time. Shortly after I had a Hypervolt 3 Pro installed by a local contractor recommended by my MG Dealer. It was done within 72 hours of getting the estimate & only took a couple...
My 2024 MG5 Trophy LR has tinted rear windows, I bought a spare wheel & kit from the MG Dealer when I bought the car in December 2024. It has Active Emergency Braking (AEB).
Interesting.....
I had a similar problem yesterday while trying to add my Hypervolt 3 Pro charger to Intelligent Octopus Go . I could not get past the test charge stage. I emailed Octopus last night & today got a few suggestions (most of which I had already tried).
I know my charger works...
Getting nowhere fast trying to get Intelligent Octopus Go to play nice.....
I have a Hypervolt 3 Pro, Mg5 Trophy LR and have signed up for IGO.
I am stuck trying to add the car/charger to the iOS 18 version Octopus APP. It hangs while trying to locate the vehicle and says the test charge has...
I am glad you got it fixed and at the same time outraged they demanded payment, especially so close to the end of warranty period.
I had a sensor failure on a FIAT based motorhome 2 months after the warranty expired. As it had a full main dealer service history I contacted FIAT customer service...
On the MG5 there's a pipe which feeds the rear screenwash in the A-pillar with a joint which can come apart especially if it is freezing cold. I would check & see if your rear screenwash is working. Others have posted photos of how to access the joint on other threads on this forum. It may be...

Could be a long shot, but there have been a number of reports on this forum of weird electrical behaviour as a result of water leaks to the driver footwell from the rear screenwash pipe located in the offside A-pillar affecting various electronic boxes. The joint can leak if the pipe freezes...
I am hoping to pre-empt this screen wash leak on my MG5 Trophy LR by securing the A-pillar connection before it leaks. There seem to be at least three 'mechanical' means to do this:
1) cable ties
2) 0-clip which are crimped in place
3) spring clips
I have read of a couple of occasions where...
Makes sense thank you. I assumed the car would just charge between 23:30 pm and 05:30 am.
Love the car by the way, I swapped it for a 3 year old Toyota Yaris Cross + £3000.
As a novice MG5 owner of 3 weeks I am struggling trying to sort out my off-peak charging.
I have a new Trophy LR, A Hypervolt Pro 3 charger and have signed up for Intelligent Octopus Go.
I managed for a few weeks with the Granny charger, followed by the Hypervolt charger both at peak energy...
I have just had a Hypervolt charger installed. I preferred the idea of a tethered charger and wanted to use ethernet to connect it to the Internet rather than wifi or cellular. A local contractor recommended by my MG Dealer was £160 cheaper than Octopus and it was done in less than a week.
I have just collected a brand new white MG5 Trophy today ....... settling down to a good read of the owners manual over Christmas. I spotted it on Autotrader a week ago, took a test drive a day later & bought it same day.
Presumably there must be some sort of MG Technical Bulletin describing the Tesla update & its applicability? If so, does anyone have details that we can use to 'persuade' reluctant dealers?
