One warning though, the app/car sometimes resets the target battery level to 100% so a quick check before you start charging is a good idea. I have, in the past, reduced the required battery level after charging has started when I discovered the app/car had put it to 100%.
As an approximation look at your accumulated miles/kWh and multiply that by your battery size.
In Winter most of my driving is local so my average speed is low but there's no real chance for the battery to warm and I'm using the HVAC. I expect my max range to be lower. Currently, at 80% the...
With the Trophy battery type, you should only charge to >80% when you need it.
Your Ohme EVSE cannot know the charge level of the car (MG have not released the interface details) so you should set the level you require in the car or using the iSmart app. Set the Ohme to give you a charge...
As someone who just scraped through GCE English (grade E) I bow to those who know better but I find the use of 'are' before 'data' grating. I have always used the singular verb 'is'. So from the internet:
As you have Trophy's with the NMC battery the car will balance/equalise using an AC EVSE at the battery level you set not just at 100%. Though it is recommended you do this occasionally dependent on your usage and every 6 months do a single less than 10% to 100% charge.
The important thing is...
I had a successful charge with my Gen 1 Trophy in January 2024 at the Breakspear SF Connect chargers, Hemel Hempstead. The previous user in a Kia could not charge and even called on the garage staff to help without success and left. So I thought I'd have a go and it worked. (I had had a failure...
Did you measure the voltage at the 12V battery to confirm your suspicions?
Usually, powering down the car switches off the 12V battery charging which is why I've noticed the infotainment display goes off after 10 minutes to avoid running down the battery. (I've needed to power up the car again...
Note that the door lock mechanism requires a powered keyfob to work so the key factor is that you cannot use the app to lock the car without the horn sounding.
I assume that when you power down the car from the infotainment screen and leave the car you can lock it using any method with no horn...
To all intents and purposes you can consider 'equalisation' and 'balancing' to be the same thing.
It is the state that the charging cycle goes into once the target percentage has been reached. The SE SR can only do this at 100% whereas cars with the NMC batteries can (usually) set a level...
The SE LR has an NMC battery the same as the Trophy and X-Power.
The low battery level to 100% in one charge is applicable to both battery types because it informs the Battery Management System so that more accurate battery statuses can be given.
The original gen 1 MG4 had a 'bump' with a camera on top of the steering column but that was removed.
There is no small screen just a reflection of something on the button.
Thanks very much for replying. I hope I never see the warnings on your driver's display.
Others have more experience with repairs and parts and I hope they advise you. There is a thread where someone gave a commentary on the repairs to their car. Search for 'Mulan' in thread titles.
Once again...
I'm sure that you only need to power up the car by sitting in the seat to get the 12V battery being maintained by the HV battery. You don't need to put the car into Ready mode by pressing the brake pedal unless, as reported in some cases, you have just finished DC charging.
@Kwills81, I hope the AA have come and sorted your car. If you are still waiting can you answer a few questions to add to the database of knowledge. Please do not answer if you are not in a safe situation.
a. How serious was your crash, eg rear-ending someone or being rear-ended, side crash...
