I smart app not connecting to car

The simple answer is to wait and it will return. Unlocking the car sometimes works. Refreshing the status a number of times sometimes works. Using the car sometimes works. I assume that you are not in a mobile blindspot and the app worked previously in that location.

    Highest Efficiency Number You’ve Seen?

I had seen previously that the chargers at Leicester were awaiting connection to the grid but a poster on the speakev forum in Dec 2022 said it was because Welcome had them switched off as there was not enough power. Same thing really. However when I looked on WattsUp the fosse shopping park...

Indications for using battery heating (now the weather is getting colder)

Yes, the 3rd tab, energy consumption. From @CatalinCazacu in the thread 'MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE' the image below:

Does charge cable affect charge speed?

It may be that the EVSE you plugged into can only supply 3.6kW irrespective if the number of cars plugged it. I'm sure the 2 port Rolec EVSE at the hotel I'm in is constrained that way.

Miles Guess O meter way out after service

I think they may have corrupted the BMS so that it does not know the lower voltage for ~0% (min range) and that for 100% (max range). You will probably have to drive down the battery percentage to 10% and charge to 100% to reset the BMS, as per the manual. As you drive down the level you may...

    MG4 internet, data limits

Can you activate the car's hotspot now? If yes, can you access the internet via that hotspot? When users have reached their data limit I believe the hotspot button toggles off every time a user tries to activate it. It sounds like the car's eSim is having trouble creating a stable connection.

    Charging query (charge terminates early)

@janeyb, please confirm you have an SR as per your profile. If so you may not have access to changing the car's charge limit.

MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

My Trophy is on R33 and I updated the maps in April this year. It took 40 minutes and, at times, I wondered if it was not working. Persevere I would say (My post on page 5 #100 if this thread.)

    Dead and unable to unlock

The keyfob is not an RFID, it is active and requires an internal battery. Thus, even if it were an RFID, the flat 12v battery means it would not work. You need to go back to your dealer and get the mechanical key for your car and, I recommend, a spare keyfob with another key.

    Consumption

Do you charge overnight before you travel out? I've found that with charging completed a few hours before travelling the HV battery is nice and warm. My return journeys do not have the charging and the consumption is higher as the battery warms.

Android Auto starting on Phone when iSmart started

So, from that I surmise that if your phone has 5GHz WiFi capability AA detects a car connection, through iSmart or Bluetooth, and is available to connect wirelessly without notification. As my phone does not have the WiFi capability AA tells me I need to connect with a cable. I think the recent...

Android Auto starting on Phone when iSmart started

But does your phone have 5GHz capability? My phone is on Android 11.

Android Auto starting on Phone when iSmart started

The only time I use AA is to 'repair' the Bluetooth connection when the car wants to pair again. The Bluetooth then connects and I remove the cable. My phone cannot connect wirelessly and I thought the car does not support it. I just wondered if others' phones start AA when iSmart is started...

Android Auto starting on Phone when iSmart started

My Moto phone Android Auto was updated yesterday. Since then every time I open iSmart near the car AA notifies me that I cannot connect wirelessly because my phone is not 5GHz WiFi capable. The phone shows no Bluetooth connection with the car. Anyone else have that problem or found a way of...

    Ohme Charging

The car should stop charging when it reaches its set limit, it is in charge. In the absence of access to the car's state of charge, I would have thought the ePod should stop the charge after it 'thinks' it has delivered 65% of the setting for the car that you specified in your account. You could...

Home Charger - Where to Install

That image smacks of an improperly tightened connection that use has heated over time and finally failed.

    Where's the odometer?

I suspect the driver's display was set to tyre pressures as shown in the MG users manual. Instructions about accessing the other windows start on page 30 in my downloaded copy - mg4_owner_manual_compressed. But what is surprising, perhaps, is that the dealer did not know. @Pete M, I suggest you...

    Reliable Lead For Android Auto

I use a cheap £1 one from Morrisons. You are not trying to use a power-only cable? Do you have a Bluetooth connection at the same time as you are trying AA? If there is no Bluetooth connection and I plug in the phone I get both AA and Bluetooth.

    Public charging issue

Thanks for the infirmation. Perhaps those in Scotland might like to comment. So you have only tried 1 provider? Have you a supermarket nearby with 7kW AC EVSEs (eg Tesco/Pod Point) as these usually give a few minutes of free charging? According to Traffic Scotland the EV Chargers (colloquial)...
