Power steering failed on 2 month old car. No MG garage can fix under warranty until 15 July!

I've had that fault come up when I'd just got in the car, got out locked it, waited a minute or so got in and waited for the system to completely initialise before touch the brake pedal and it had cleared. I think there are a few reports of this type of problem on the forum, I think they are a...

    Asymmetrical wing mirrors!

More fun when they were wing mirrors and you had to get out to adjust them, or get your glamorous assistant to move them.

    Satnav??? New to Mg4

Yes I guess that might be a problem, although if you set up 'home' that could work.

    Asymmetrical wing mirrors!

Agreed although other cars I've had with folding mirrors the angle adjustment takes place within the shell rather than the shell moving.

    OHME and Solar

I guess it could work for me as I'm on FiT, I could push the extra above what the granny can provide into the car, but that would max out at 3.5kW from my panels so not really worth it for the few months that is likely to happen.

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

It is incredible how much difference it makes. In the last 3 weeks we have generated a third of the amount for the previous 6 months! In 3 weeks I have purchased 130 kWh, put 140kWh through the granny charger and been paid £86 so far in FiT (381 kWh x 23p) payments. Hopefully this year the FiT...

Charging Flap / Door not opening

There's a manual release inside the boot behind a flap. If that works try cleaning/greasing the mechanism. Edit: Brain fart alert ; must have been tired, this isn't the case.

The great big insurance rip off

My cynical side thinks that the business model for insurance and many other time limited services is based upon the need for churn, without a constant supply of 'new' customers the boards bonuses are not forthcoming.

The great big insurance rip off

some years ago I suddenly realised I was over 50 and could get quote from Saga, they quoted me £800+for my MX5, whereas I was getting quotes from reputable companies in the £2-300 range, I never bothered with them after that.

    Charging up a power bank

Mine came from Aldi/Lidl with a LiFePO4 battery, I fully charged it and left unused for well over a year and it quite happily poked our RAV4 into life, didn't do so well with the 2.5 diesel in the horse box though.

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

Our panels are SSW facing so it wasn't until 8:30 this morning we started to produce excess above our base load. time to get the washing on then plug the car in.

    Radio

The DAB reception is a bit flaky along the coast here. At the weekend whilst listening to Classic FM it cutout and the car announced ' You were listening to music how about this' and then cut back to the station. WTF?

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

soggy side of the country here so our solar is barely covering the base load of around 300W but so far this month it has generated around £60. It does get a bit addictive watching how the generation varies with light levels.

    Aurora watch

I think that's due to some clever stuff in the iPhone night mode. We only had to step into the garden to see this, although I wish we'd gone out to the coast. I really like the 'ghostly green mist' you've caught in your photo. We don't reach solar max until next year so there's plenty of time yet.
