    Xpower as a hot hatch

SAIC will limit it to 64mph so no-one will experience the vibrations and then claim this lower limit is simply a characteristic of the car.

MG4 X Power Roll Call and mods.

It should appear once you put your foot on the brake pedal so that the car is reporting 'ready' on the drivers screen.

    X Power Vibes Fix?

Please keep us posted once these parts are fitted as this is sounds like the fix that MG UK have withdrawn due to it 'being ineffective' (nothing to do with cost you understand). Imagine the controversy & fallout if this proves to be effective!

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

Personally I think they do but it's way too expensive to implement for all complaining customers so they are just hoping a majority accept it as a 'characteristic'. Here's hoping the class action changes their minds (again the caveat is this is just my opinion and so could be wrong).

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

Well all I know is putting considerable weight in the drivers seat certainly doesn't shift the resonance to anywhere unnoticeable :ROFLMAO:

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

But surely to try and appease customers & the media storm, they would at least state they are exploring options (if that was indeed true or at least planned) rather than put in writing that no further development is planned? I'm with Bricktop on this - we love the car in nearly all aspects...

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

I have it very clearly in writing from my dealer this week that as it currently stands, MG / SAIC are not actively working on a fix for this characteristic. That's pretty clear to me.

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

So the end of the (UK) road for a fix then.

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

Damn those unique and always identical pesky UK road surfaces for scuppering this fix :ROFLMAO:

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

To me it looks like our only hope is MG Australia/NZ fitting this kit to one of it's customers cars, as they seem more pro-active than MG UK, which clearly believes its customers are all fools. I'm genuinely interested to hear about the results from this kit being fitted. I still very much...

VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

Yeah I'm waiting patiently at the moment to hear if anyone has had the 'stage 2' fix and whether it works - given that I've got it in writing from my dealer and MG that this fix is ineffective, it would be very satisfying (and useful for the legal case I guess), if it did actually work as would...

MG 4 EV tow bar and electrics

We had a Brink removeable tow bar fitted to our X-Power was £750 installed. Apart from small cut to rear bumper, installer said it was pretty straightforward to install. Car tows our trailer better than our Tesla model 3 - less pitching, more stable.

    Do I vibe?

Ours improved with a tyre change at 300 miles but then has largely stayed them same over next 7k miles. Revised steering damper fitted last Friday - no real difference.

    Do I vibe?

They won't refuse - the MG master tech there is well aware of the issue ;) Get the issue logged 100% as soon as possible.

    Do I vibe?

Hendy Poole fitted a new set of Michelins to ours when we initially complained about the vibes (which aside from being far better performing tyres in all conditions, did reduce the vibration a bit) so worth pushing for these anyway, even if the OP later goes ahead with the rejection.

    Do I vibe?

If you do decide you can live with them (totally your choice) then still log it as a fault with Hendy and push for a new set of tyres - a) you get rid of the appalling standard rubber b) for us it did noticeably reduce the vibration Also by logging it with the dealer early doors, should you...

    Do I vibe?

I think if it was that easy, MG would have rolled out replacing the problematic driveshaft/s. My take on it on it is a more complex interaction with other rotational parts in the cars dual drive train that is creating this resonance vibration but I guess only SAIC know the full story and it's...

    Do I vibe?

Unsure of the relative speeds of the motors at a given point but MG have already admitted in that leaked technical bulletin that the excitation source is a driveshaft. Regarding the suspension, as far I'm aware it has slightly stiffer spring rates and anti-roll bars.

    Do I vibe?

They know all about this 'characteristic' as our X-Power has been back to them 5 or 6 times (once was for a breakdown when the autonomous braking module failed though). Get straight back onto them. Based on our experience, they will fit a decent set of tyres FOC, fit the steering damper that is...

    X Power Rejection.

I extensively drove Howards Yeovil X-Power demo back in January 2024 which the sales manager said he'd had for 4 months so would have been one of the earlier cars. Did around 100 miles in it and there were definitely no vibrations, so I went ahead and ordered one one the back of that.........
