I got a notification on my phone this morning that said "Your VIN xxxxx vehicle has been unbound successfully."
I haven't been in the car since Monday and haven't opened the app since then either.
Anyone got any ideas?
Update... it's almost perfect but, I've been left standing out in the cold a few times.
There seems to be an issue with Remote Climate Control interfering with the Digital Key & Remote Unlock.
A few times when I've been out running with just my water bottle and my phone. About 5 minutes away...
MG iSMART-Support tell me this for every fault I send them, approximately 5-10 a week as I've started emailing them EVERY time the iSMART app fails to work.
Is the Motorola running newer software? Android recently made changes to both their Background Battery and Data services. You have to select "Unlimited" for both in submenus (beyond the power and data options in the app details).
Ah, I understand... However, locking with the Digital Key isn't the same as remote locking (from anywhere on the planet) as I'm physically stood with the vehicle and connected via Bluetooth.
*rhetorical/pontification
I've asked MG to clarify for me as this would probably allow those pesky...
No, when unlocking / locking the car. If I use the key it goes clunk clunk. If I use the App it just goes clunk once. Old Fords used to to this when engaging the deadbolts, maybe it's the same for the MG4 and locking using the app doesn't engage the deadbolts?
It finally works! I've no ideas what the garage did but after 3 years it's now working and I'm completely key free 🙌
I unlock the car from the digital key menu, open the door, press keyless start and then get in and it starts right up.
I'll probably still take a key when I'm going long...
My AAWireless dongle works great in and around most cities. It sometimes cuts out on the motorways, specifically where there's a motorway services at both sides. They must all use the same frequencies for wireless communication between the 2 sides as it cuts out 100% of the time as I drive under...
As @Everest said, I had an issue with charging from a granny charger but, it was the extension cable plug and Tapo socket that were melted together.
I've since changed the plug socket and extension cable to EV rated ones. And I'm using a CT clamp and Fingerbot to automate the socket switch-off...
I have a problem with DC charging sometimes. I find that if I lock the car with the charging flap open, give it 30 seconds and then plug it, it usually works.
I don't have any problems with granny charging, I just plugs it in and off it goes.
I don't have AC charging available so couldn't...
I prefer the hold for 5 and push for 1. I'd prefer it even more if it was hold for 10 and push for 1
I'm not a fan either, I've turned off all the voice queues. I'd turn off all the dings and bings too given half the chance. I've set the alert volume as low as it will go but it still annoys the...
Couldn't have been this, mine happened on an evening in May. The temperature was 15 degrees on that day according to uncle Google. The video I took at the time shows the sun was out and the windscreen was clear. Also, mine was Airbag fault, ACC fault, Auto Hold fault and SOS fault. I reckon it...
I see that the Bluetooth issue has been fixed but, now we've got that stupid brightness problem back again:
Do you reckon the MG coders all have the same mouse mat as me?
Honestly, I don't think the car's gone for a single day in the last 3 years without something not working properly. It...
I've had this before too... just a random string of warnings when I got in the car. I powered it off from the menu inside the infotainment system, waited 5 minutes and it was back to normal.
It was fine for 3 years until a software update reset the AC charging current on the vehicle. Anyways, I replaced the cable with an EV rated one, and replaced the plug socket with an EV rated one. If the Tapo wasn't tripping the in-line RCD all the time I'd still have it plugged in. It has a...
