iSmart is a joke, mine doesn't connect even when I'm in the car and it's running. I've raised several official complaints and been brushed off every time:
"you must have bad signal" - I've checked and there's good signal for every UK operator
"your car must be in deep sleep" - I'd actually used...
Too late, already had one while I was in Portugal at the weekend 🤣
I wasn't charging the car though. Home Assistant, routers and switches etc. all have UPS so no problems there but, reinitialising the RCD could prove a faff if it happens while I'm charging. Mind, all the burglar alarms in the...
BS1363-2 socket installed ✅
25m Tough Lead extension with in-line RCD plugged in ✅
Movement sensor installed into Tough Lead enclosure ✅
Fingerbot stuck to new BS1363-2 socket ✅
Home Assistant Automation created to disconnect power on suspected foul play ✅
Job done :D
It was being used inside. Inside the garage 😂 It's a concrete walled and wooden door'ed outbuilding.
Defo, it's got a flippin hole in it.
Yeah, but it probably saved my socket's life and prevented a fire too, so every cloud and all 😁
So a BS1363-2 socket and a new Tough Leads cable then, check ✅
Maybe I should just replace it with one of these purpose built cables instead. I've got the money and you can't exactly put a price on safety.
The mains end socket (no charging, still pristine white) is in a garage with it's own consumer unit so I doubt it'd burn the house down if I just...
The imprint's from the fuse of the plug that was plugged into the tapo not the fuse that's inside the tapo itself. It had melted straight out of the plug and straight through the front of the tapo.
Good job tapo KP115s havs thermal protection, lucky escape there. We set to 8 amps too. Never had a problem for 2 years even at max speed during the winter.
I had some software updates done during my last service a few weeks ago and I was told that a very recent update for the LKA was installed.
It's finally behaving itself 🙌 I've been driving it for 2 whole weeks on my regular journeys and a couple of long trips.
I left it turned on the whole time...
Update
Car went back into the dealership a few weeks ago for a service. Whatever updates they installed worked a treat.
At the weekend, on my first long trip, the car went from Sheffield to Beverley, then to Barton-upon-Humber, then back to Sheffield no problems.
It just says success
Doubtful, I've tested it every time it came back from the dealership without getting it to work. The previous updates in 2024 fixed the Bluetooth issues caused by the one previous to that in 2023.
Update after 2nd service and R63 software it still isn't working. The dealership actually said "we've replaced the battery in your key fob, see if it works now" 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
*exactly what they said when it went in last time by the way
Please could you detail your pone make and model and exact...
It's my own fault really... I asked for updates to try and fix the Lane Kill Assist and the Digital Key still not working (it's never worked). Little did I know the dreaded Bluetooth issue had returned.
I've emailed MG and SAIC asking for an ETA on a fix and to advise, as I did with the...
