    Wish list of MG4 improvements

Power tailgate, or better assisted dampers would be a useful. I love my MG4 Trophy LR, but it will go at 2 years in October, the car has so far been brilliant, not a hiccup, but the boot is rather heavy for my wife to lift, so will get something with a powered tailgate, will have to wait and...

Understanding how the interior heating system works

I'm now certain as well @siteguru, I didn't bother to check, so I was obviously mis-sold by the sound of it, I was told it had a heat pump, word of mouth only I'm afraid, so nothing I can do now 17 months later.

Understanding how the interior heating system works

I don't actually understand what you mean, are you referring to MG in general or just MG4 models? My MG4 Trophy LR has a heat pump, I cant speak for other MG models.

    MG4 lane keeping assist

Agree with the headlight sensaattivity, but it's not a major issue and easy to turn off.

    MG4 lane keeping assist

I m only aware of 1st gen problems from other sources Delboy, I think most of the problems were sorted in my 2nd gen MG4, but the crap LKA was with me for the 1st year, which I disabled every time I remembered 😂. In retrospect the salesman was wanting me to buy an in stock 1st gen mg4, but I...

    MG4 lane keeping assist

Johnny g, R59 UPDATE, sorted out the aggressive yanking of the steering wheel in Oct 24 on my 4 Trophy LR's 1st service. I've personally never been problemed by collision assist, but defo LKA was awful, although it could be turned off, the update simplified that process too, it seemed like MG...

Condensation in the cabin in cold weather

I removed the. Centre headrest in my MG4, made a huge difference to rear visibility.

Condensation in the cabin in cold weather

Hi Ian, You have opened up another interesting point, the cost of charging at Home. I always charge my MG4 overnight @7p per kWh using Octopus Intelligent GO tariff, I'm wondering which energy supplier and Tariff you use, stating 15p to 20p. I have solar and huge bank of flooded lead acid...

Condensation in the cabin in cold weather

Yes, I've never had a car fogging up so much, I've found turning on the heating / AC before I started driving, but that of course is costly on the battery, in an attempt to save the battery on longer trips turn off the heater, invariably it fogs up again in really cold weather.

Ditto on the opposite lock more than once Macadoodle, it's a fun car to drive that's for certain, long while since I had decent power to the rear wheels.

Spot on Touraeg, Got me thinking, I'll leave the car in the garage and get my EV bike out, but second thoughgts, it's effin cold on a bike, we live too remote... I'll pay the money :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I agree Bricktop, £30K+ miles seems to be extraordinarily high for any EV. My tyres are Bridgestone Turanza 235/45/R18 T006EV, original tread depth according to Bridgestone is 6.5mm, my remaining tread depth is 3.5mm above the Tread Wear Indicator (TWI), so although it looks bad, it's actually...

You are spot on Tuareg, to hear somebody say regen braking has minimal effect, it definitely has a direct effect, if your body can feel the deceleration as with regen left on the default 'high' setting, it definitely will have a considerable impact. I reckon the important order of wear is. 1...

I'll start another thread, I keep my 4 on highest regent, it's obvious that is adding to tyre wear. Wow, I'm not too hard a driver, I leave my 4 trophy LR on highest regeneration brakeing, I've always felt that must have a significant effect on tyre wear.

Tyre wear seems exceptionally harsh on my 4 Trophy LR, now only 8500 miles on the clock and tyres not looking great, I'd guess 60% + or so worn. How many sets of tyres have you gone through Salty? what sort of milage per set?

R59 update - LKA disable shortcut

The R59 update in October 2024 on my MG4 Trophy LR had several benefits. The big one for me which I'd already mentioned here was the quelling of the over zealous Lane Keep Assist, but I still turn it OFF as I don’t like it! For those in this community there is also a very useful shortcut to...

Condensation in the cabin in cold weather

Hi Salty, During cold weather, the AC is on virtually all the time, but the rear window still does start to mist up, I'm with you, definitely do not want misted up windows, too dangerous. Lower range and charging more frequently are a few of the evils of EV ownership, no worries for me either...

Condensation in the cabin in cold weather

My 4 trohpy LR also mists up when really cold, so to avoid too much we have the heater on most of the time, set at 25C, occasionally put the front demister on for a few minutes to clear the windows before it fogs up too much. Yep, also open the drivers window a small amount occasionally and...
