HaHaHa, so FTF are you doing discussing slick economy?:ROFLMAO: Joking mate! just give me the stiff finger if I stand out from all you cuffy scrunts hiding in the hedgerows.(y):ROFLMAO:

    Rain repellent.

Couldn't agree more @stevedee , I don't, (or can't) want to workout the exact savings of clean vs dirty, from mud picked up along roads, it's obvious to most of us, but totally agree with carrying additional weight, even a charge cable, and I wonder how much a dirty car wastes in both weight and...

    Under Hood LED solutions

I don't actually understand what you are trying to achieve, by "hood" (USA) do you mean bonnet (English) perhaps? If you mean you want lighting in the engine area, connecting directly to the battery seems a possible solution, but would need to be switched in some way. For simplicity and...

    Rain repellent.

I think as @Ian Key suggests, the word theory is key here, I like to keep my cars clean, whilst other's don't wash their cars for months, prime in my mind is keeping the car looking nice. But obviously a clean car is definitely going to be more efficient at gliding or cutting through the air...

    MG S5 software version thread

Exactly the same software version as mine @stevedee and all the others, including Portugal!

    Three Months In An S5

My multi-meter is a low cost version @stevedee, but tested against my neighbours (electronics engineer's) it's pretty much spot on, at least as you infer, within the bounds of acceptability in this instance and probably + or - 0.1 volts is close when considering a couple of volts differential...

    Three Months In An S5

My S5 conundrum kinda semi solved According to a notice on the driver’s screen when turning off the power, “12v battery level is critical” as photo. To check 12V battery state of charge (SOC) in the car, touch car icon bottom on the infotainment screen and then touch STATUS, 12V BATTERY still...

MG 2025: An Epic Year | MG Motor UK - video

I like MG @MG Clive they make some really nice cars, but with a "tincy wincy" amount of additional input from MG they could be GREAT cars Clive!

    Three Months In An S5

It's a mystery @Coulomb, you are absolutely correct, the normal resting voltage of a 12V lead acid battery is in the region of 12.6 volts. I wonder if anyone else has measured their 12V battery without entering the car to activate the startup procedure? In my mind it's somehow, rightly or...

    Three Months In An S5

I only get the message of low 12V battery when the car is in "ready mode" of course, but what I don't understand is with all electrics turned off, my 12V battery is reading 13.9V. I purposely left the car unlocked overnight, by switching off at the infotainment screen, I opened the drivers door...

    New EV - advice please

I'm on my 2nd EV (MGS5, MG4 previously) Using Intelligent Octopus Go, giving 6 hours (11.30pm to 5.30am) to charge the car with the excellent Ohme Home Pro 7kW EV Charger, we also run any other high usage utilities during the cheap 6 hours, like washing machine and dishwasher etc, all at cheap...

    Three Months In An S5

Exactly @emmrecs. I've noticed my S5 Custom Pilot wont save driving in Eco mode, not sure if it's standard or another anomaly, but it's not something I use regularly. Another thing, I regularly get a flash message telling me the 12V battery is low, but it's far from low, measured today @13.9V...

    Three Months In An S5

I now get a very peaceful drive in my S5, I've turned off all the annoying bings and bongs, but you'll need to turn down the volume in one of the menu's to totally stop the most annoying ones, I cant remember exactly how I turned down the sound, but it's all quite normal to drive now, so long as...

I couldn’t wait to stop driving this car

I couldn’t wait to stop driving this car

The following Tesla was definitely travelling too close, BUT in the circumstances it was a strange thing to happen and for NO apparent reason, other than the rather feeble legal type of response from Mercedes, but it seems they did subsequently test the car and found nothing apparently wrong...

I couldn’t wait to stop driving this car

Totally agree @salty, the dealers are tied to what they can do, I think they actually DO try, in my case like many others though they were not able to sort the niggles, that I imagine is in MG's court. Is it they pushed to cars out to the dealers before they were fully evaluated perhaps? A bit...

I couldn’t wait to stop driving this car

I think this is possibly an Australian review of the MG HS hybrid, but it's typical of many of MG's models, and somewhat similar to my own MGS5. https://torquecafe.com/i-couldnt-wait-to-stop-driving-this-car/ My brother has just bought the HS hybrid Couple of weeks ago here in the UK, it's...

    Three Months In An S5

One thing I would have liked is being able to see the 12v battery condition on the app, it was on my MG4, so why the furk it isn't on the S5, I've just ordered a Bluetooth battery tester, but that's no good for checking when we are on holiday and the car is at an airport car park.
