    I used Waze and quite liked it, but there was no way to stop it showing close distances in feet! If that's been fixed I may go back to it, but I prefer to use inbuilt satnav.

    Many years ago when personal computers started to appear, I recall a health & safety regulation (or possibly just guidance) which said that the software interface should be user friendly. Even now, we all work with interfaces which aren't. ?

    My SO says the very bottom socket/plug doesn't send anything through until something is plugged into it, ie it is safe.

    I think this the 'dead reckoning' problem which is a setting which needs to be changed. There's another thread about it in the forum but sorry, I don't have time to find it for you. (I don't have my MG yet either.)
