Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

This could be a signal integrity issue. Perhaps poor reverse-engineering/re-implementation of the clone device.

MG4 bottom door sill very "sharp"

Yes, my wife frequently complains. Not that it's sharp, particularly, but especially because water collects on the ledge when it's wet, too.

    Laughable insurance quote from SAGA

I've renewed (early) at a 4.7% discount on last year's premium with some additional free excess cover. My previous insurer subsequently phoned and tried to get me to renew, and could he see if he could improve their price (reminding me that I had 14 days to cancel my new cover). I questioned why...

Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

I see. Thanks. Where is the update log? Is this the 'programming history' mentioned elsewhere in this thread? Why might they be unwilling to share this information unless they had something to hide (e.g. that they have claimed to update an item but haven't). Wouldn't this be providing a...

Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Please could I just confirm - Does the LOU report show the present module firmware status for a particular VIN and highlight whether updates are available? Has anyone tried asking their dealer for this information and a copy of the programming history for their car? All I've ever received are...

What's all this about solid state batteries in the MG4?

Sorry - I misremembered the price I paid. It was £32,500. Since my post I've had my insurance renewal (gasp!) so I've had a quick look at used prices in preparation for my annual trawl through the price comparison sites. I think used prices are a little under £20,000. Allowing a dealer...

What's all this about solid state batteries in the MG4?

The thing with PCP is that you're guaranteed the car will have a specific value at the end of the 3 year term (or whatever period you chose). If you can sell it for more than that at the end of the term them you can buy at the specified price and sell at a profit. Altenatively, you can often...

    Laughable insurance quote from SAGA

Perhaps MK has become expensive. I've just received my renewal for £621. Up 24% on last year (which was up 59% on the year before). I thought prices were supposed to be reducing. I'm an old git too. It's scandalous.

Well that didn't take long ! (minor damage)

I had that happen to me (unknowingly; just one scuff, not two) in the short time between cleaning/checking my previous car for damage and selling it to Cazoo. Even though they admitted it was in great condition, they knocked £800 off the price offered.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

I've never had a distance displayed, only the coloured bars and beeps. I'm on R46 - was it new at R59?.

MG4 Powering down if you wish to remain seated in the car.

If only it were so simple. In my car (with R46), I have to: 1. Select the 'Car' icon, 2. Select the 'Safety' tab (because it's not selected by default as in the video) 3. Select the 'Power Off' button 4. Confirm that I want to power-off More often than not, the touch screen doesn't respond to...

MG4 Powering down if you wish to remain seated in the car.

Is there a simple way of turning-off the DRLs when leaving the car with passengers inside. I'm always returning to my car to find the lights on. I'm sure it must annoy other people in car parks, too - wondering if my car is about to start moving when they want to leave their parking space.

    MG pilot

I've had my MG4 Trophy Long Range (Holborn Blue) for around 17 months, now, and I'm still confounded by its lane assist features. I don't change any settings in any 'pre-flight schedule', but sometimes when I'm driving along it will beep at me, sometimes vibrate the steering and at other times...

Are you sure? There's no way for module versions to be interrogated? Then again, from what we've learnt over the past 2 years...

LKA: And again just yesterday......Indicating left to filter-off a fast-moving traffic lane and the steering is trying to pull me back onto the main road. The driver behind must have been cursing me!

    Signs of a(n) (un)healthy battery in a Used MG4

I wouldn't disagree, but I shouldn't need to go out of my way to ask. The paperwork I was given was next to useless (much of it relating to ICE vehicles) and, for all I could tell, it could have all been pre-printed.

    Signs of a(n) (un)healthy battery in a Used MG4

Also going back a bit, I checked the service documentation I received in April. On the MG Maintenance Check Sheet MG4 EV under 'Connect diagnostic equipment, using VDS read, log and clear all codes Check and record the HV battery State of Charge and State of Health' the result is '✓'...

    Leaving the car on.

The driving lights stay on on my Trophy. This alone is surely a beacon to any undesirables that suggests the ignition is on. I think they should turn off a minute or so after leaving the seat.

Leave A/C on while doors locked

In a similar(?) vein, I often don't feel the need to lock my MG4 every time I get out (on my drive, for example) and forget that the headlights and (aircon) stay on. Why don't they turn off when nobody is sitting in the driver's seat?
