The ProjectEV is made by Growatt who have huge experience of the power electronics market in China. The unit consists of a couple of PCBs so if anything goes wrong it'll be hard to repair. The App is rubbish to the point where they recommend that you use a different one with less features and...
I can't see them being able to argue against that.
Out of interest, how many days have you had the car when it's not been in the garage? Arguably the clock stops when you don't have it.
Part of the issue is probably that the IT in cars is developed for more different platforms than PCs and that they generally have low levels of physical resources.
The garages will be pressing MG for a service mode for the App that allows them to disable those updates. Otherwise we'll all find out where they buy their pasties from.;)
Do you have any idea of the component costs of a 22kW inverter?* And how many people in the UK would benefit from it?
Less than 10% of UK properties have 3 phase, and the cost of installing it can be prohibitive (£20k+ in my case). Most EV owners charge at home because it's cheapest and 7kW...
No.
Just swapping the EVSE is debatably allowed but changing the circuit is not allowed unless you are qualified under Part P. So removing the Matt:e would not be.
They are too busy not to make a charge of more than the work justifies. Get a few quotes or buy one that self installs.
Typical effect of the lobbying power of German industry at EU level. In Germany itself the ban is 2030 but at the EU level the Germans were virtually alone in hanging out for 2035 and won.
Is that a rare environmental initiative from the people with the smallest consciences or the politicians hiding behind the banks to ensure that someone else takes the blame?
Why waste effort on developing ICE to meet Euro 7 rather than EVs when ICE sales will finish in 2030?
That wouldn't be in Germany's interest as they are importing so many BMWs etc from China. And exporting so much other technology the other way. Anything not in the interest of the EUs...
It's a "feature" that MG may, or may not, address when they feel like it and may, or may not, apply retrospectively to existing cars.
I suggest that you have to learn to live with it.
Yes. With a few caveats that apply to all spacesavers:
the standard MG5 spacesaver is 125/90R16, so clearly different to the 215/50R17. But it's within the magical advice of 3% of diameter/circumference.
All spacesavers are limited to 50 miles at 50 mph and should be replaced after use.
The...
It appears that MG are in their usual "nothing to see here" attitude. Clearly the issue exists and MG should at least believe the incident at their dealers even if they were unsure of the other accounts.
