    Year 3-4 service quote

I'm with you - ripping off L, R & C. I've a 3rd year service coming up and at a new dealer who does actually answer questions unlike Caffyns Ashford who are fronted by service numpties. As leasehold is have cake and eat it to freehold, servicing for EVs with no ICE engine or multi speed gearbox...

    MG ISMART App

No, the app has major flaws; it will disconnect from the MG server with unhelpful message 'token expired' (?) and then on resetting (password + email/phone) says 'bind car' WHICH reports 'car already bound' leading to a remote, tortuous and unreliable procedure to un-bind the vehicled (the app...

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

Thank. Invicta are on my list to phone. My take on Caffyns is they are just milking it.

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

Caffyns Ashford Kent have told me (1) they misquoted the year 3 service at £346 thinking - and I am being generous - it was a year 4 service (expensive) (2) I asked if MG se the service costs and was told MG specify what has to be done to a car and the price of spares but each garage will have...

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

Hi Bob. I had to look up Baldivis. You're ahead of me. I think it's time I got MG in Oxford (UK) to tell me what service cost should be. MG's responsiveness to driver/owner concerns is not great based on my own experience. FYI I watch Sam Evans' channel The Electric Viking. He is great.

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

Thanks Rutsy; Tun Wells is 31m from me which is doable if I wait while it's done; there is (apparently) another MG dealer in Maidstone, Invicta, and I've used their contact form with no result; not that any of the dealers are any good at reading their customer messages - unless you want to buy a...

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

If you read the thread above you'll see figures in the low hundreds quoted for ZS EV servicing - and a warranty should cost nothing. I've a few weeks before I have to get the service donw and I shall be looking around at what the service jobs actually are, because with no oil changes, little...

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

OK calling MG EV drivers in the county of Kent where I live. Main dealer in Ashford Caffyns is the mob that wants £364. What dealers do Kent MG EV owners use please?

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

My ZS goes in for its 3 year service next month and I've been told up front it will be £364.34. 1 Can any of you wiser and more experienced than me tell e what the dealer does that costs so much? 2 And is 'main dealer service' a precondition of the car/battery guarantees? 3 Where should I...

Taking MG5 on holiday to Belgium: tips & gripes

We have grandchildren in Antwerp and have driven our 22 plate ZS there and back a lot; the slow-street-public chargers in Antwerp have done well for us, using my daughter in law's RFID card, but the latest find is using my ChargeMap RFID card in a nearby Aldi with fast DC charging and doing...

Insurance Renewal time again, any recommendations?

Last year we paid LV= (the = sign is part of their name) £828 for fully comp 71 plate Renault Zoë and 22 plate MG ZS on a combined insurance deal and after a long convo with LV= about reducing the v large increase for each car insured separately whcih had a substantial effect (reduction). The great big insurance rip off

I asked the interweb to get me a quote on a hypothetical Tesla Y s/h 2022 LR abt £30k. I was quoted £1830. Not given it to the Meerkats yet but wow, That's a lot compared to my ZS. Has made wife v happy though. 'Perhaps now you'll shut up about it!' she was thinking but did not say.

AI and beating a PCN: it could help you - have a read

Hardly relevant to my case. I gave it my best (white knucked with anger) shot and GPT4 transformed it into something persuasive enough to get the money grubbing Dart Charge machine a bloody nose . Textual things like this are being done all day everyday in business; I use GPT4 regularly as an...

AI and beating a PCN: it could help you - have a read

I used GPT4 to help me get two PCNs (parking control notices) cancelled. The hard-hearted people at Dart Charge (Dartford Crossing) where you have to remember to pay when you get home dinged me unfairly (I had grounds) and rejected my appeal; at the time the 2 PCNs added together had escalated...

    Tips for using public chargers

But the world isn't the same as when GIGO was current. The internet-isation of global knolwedge places resources that go beyond 'computing' at our disposal with undreamt of potential. Already new drug research has seen time cut to minute shreds because AI can process ideas at speeds no human can...
