I used GPT4 to help me get two PCNs (parking control notices) cancelled. The hard-hearted people at Dart Charge (Dartford Crossing) where you have to remember to pay when you get home dinged me unfairly (I had grounds) and rejected my appeal; at the time the 2 PCNs added together had escalated to £250.

I excersised my right to appeal to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, all online and very fast. MY POINT IS I read about a v v angry motorist who'd been dinged for an unfair PCN and turned to GPT4 to do what his white knuckled rage could not even begin to handle.

I therefore drafted my argument then copied it to GPT4 (free version) and said 'help me win' Without any further instruction it returned (in under 5 seconds) 3 variants: procedural, compassionate, misleading communications. I chose the third.

In 48 hours I'd won. I don't think (though one can never know) I'd have won as easily or even had merely a reduced fine without GPT4's help. FYI it is disclosed that 60% of PCN appeals are successful, either cancellation of reduced fines. As many assert, parking fines are money-makers for authorities of all kinds and 'they' will grind on with threats (CCJ, baliffs hauling off your goods) and make people afraid.

Anyone can get GPT4 free version on PC, Mac, smartphone or tablet by typing Open AI into Google or whatever you use and taking it from there. It is brilliant and many things but writing is its forté. Perhaps a case of garbage in, gold out.

Except what you need to remember - before taking the AI route - that AI is still far from reliable; there were cases in the US with AI quoting imaginary cases and the lawyer using it made a total fool of himself in court... less of a problem for us making fools of ourselves in court but more of a problem when costs and penalties add up costing us thousands instead of £60 or whatever it is ...

Hardly relevant to my case. I gave it my best (white knucked with anger) shot and GPT4 transformed it into something persuasive enough to get the money grubbing Dart Charge machine a bloody nose . Textual things like this are being done all day everyday in business; I use GPT4 regularly as an author in both research and editing and all for free.
