I have also found that without A/C on, and in some weather conditions, the screen mists up badly when I first start out in a morning.

This tested me for a while. The sat nav scheme is overridden by the selection of the infotainment scheme. If the infotainment scheme is auto you will get normal satnav colour in daylight and night mode at night but if you select infotainment dark colour scheme it forces satnav to night mode...
