Hi. I’ve picked up my MG3 Trophy but I can’t get the navigation system to work properly. It’s looking as if it’s in night mode. I’ve tried to follow the instructions in the online handbook but with no success. Can anyone help please?

Yes, I can doo that but it’s still in night mode which means I can’t see it during the day and it’s not speaking to me either!

Have you been able to set a destination, or can't you get as far as that?
Thank you for your help, Clive. I’ve fiddled around with various settings, vehicle and navigation and seem to have solved the problem. Manual is all well and good but doesn’t seem to explain everything!

I'm pleased you seem to have got it sorted mate, we're all just beginning out journey of discovery with the MG3 Hybrid.

I like the sat nav, but for one foible, which is that it constantly tells us it is recalibrating the route after junctions, even when it is following the route it originally set. Every other sat nav I have used announces recalibration after a wrong turn. The MG's sat nav leaves me thinking I am constantly making wrong turns.

This tested me for a while. The sat nav scheme is overridden by the selection of the infotainment scheme. If the infotainment scheme is auto you will get normal satnav colour in daylight and night mode at night but if you select infotainment dark colour scheme it forces satnav to night mode.
This may be a software bug as it is a very inconvenient feature!

I have noticed this as well, I think it's the GPS getting confused momentarily as to its location.
I personally now use Waze via Apple CarPlay, this has real time traffic data, and whilst very occasionally choosing some strange routes, it's on the whole excellent at negotiating around Londons terrible traffic.
There are similar applications such as Google maps which all do much the same thing.
In order not to have to plug my phone into the car, and remember to unplug it before I leave, I use one of the readily available (via Amazon) CarPlay or Android Auto Wireless adapters.
The device plugs into the USB socket in the car, and when you get in automatically connects your phone via Bluetooth giving instant access to whichever system your phone has.
I would also mention arguably the biggest benefit- voice activation. This allows you just to say the address and/or POI, and it is excellent at understanding what you are saying!

Go into settings on car screen.ie swipe display left on dashboard screen and alter all settings in the navigation section. I tried just altering settings on sat nav screen and nothing changed.
