The Toyota RAV4 EV is an all-electric version of the popular RAV4 SUV produced by Toyota until 2014. Two generations of the EV model were sold in California, and to fleets elsewhere in the US, with a gap of almost ten years between them.
The first generation was leased from 1997 to 2003, and at the lessees' request, many units were sold after the vehicle was discontinued. A total of 1,484 were leased and/or sold in California to meet the state's mandate for zero-emissions vehicle. A small number were sold or leased in fleet sales in other states. As of mid-2012, there were almost 500 vehicles still in use in California. Production of the second generation EV was limited to 2,600 units during a three-year run, with sales limited to California beginning in 2012. Production ended in September 2014. A total of 2,489 units of the second generation model were sold in California through April 2015.Toyota worked together with Tesla Motors and Panasonic to develop the second generation RAV4 EV, and the electric SUV was released in the United States in September 2012. The US Environmental Protection Agency rated the second generation RAV4 EV with a range of 103 mi (166 km) and a combined fuel economy rating of 76 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (3.1 L/100 km).
I have found what looks like rust on my 2022 model ZS EV on the bumper beam and in plate joints under the hood. I contacted the brand dealer and they offer me rust treatment with something called Mercasol. is a wax- and oil-based substance that protects against rust. Similar to tectyl. Has...
Hi there,
My apologies if this has been asked a thousand times but I can’t seem to find “up to date” posts surrounding this.
So I brought a MG ZS EV Standard Range (Trophy) a couple weeks back and have now started to play around with settings having now had the at home charger installed.

So, scarily, it will soon be time to hand my ZS EV mark 1 back (PCH) so just sorting things out. Few dents so easy enough to resolve. However, I will need to get a 4th service on the car. Just booked it in for £330.84! Wowsers! I suppose it is what it is, but I do wonder what the dealer will be...
Hi,
I mentioned this last summer but as we've done the same again and we have some new members I will go over what I've learned from the last two years.
Having an EV as a hire car is - right now - a hidden gem. Because a lot were bought by fleets and few holidaymakers know EVs, some of the...
As my period of taking the full glory of owning a new '24 reg car ( my first ownership from new) comes to an end on Sunday I've invested in a private reg to swap in when '74 becomes 'the thing' , Sunday....or mebbes Monday, depending on admin availability. A couple of queries if I may ?
1. Can...
I've had an MG4 Trophy LR for almost a year and am generally very happy with it. A charging issue has recently arisen and I wonder if anyone has a solution. I set the Zappi2 app to 'FAST' charging, connect up the car, then use the MG4 phone app to start charging. After 10-20 seconds the charging...
Hello everyone. How many minutes does it take to charge the mg zs ev long range 180kW charging station from 20% to 100% and from 20% to 80%? How many km can it go on intercity roads at a speed of 100 km/h? I would be glad if you could help... Thank you.
When I was a nippa many cars were fitted with an overdrive gear activated by a switch on the gear stick or a stalk. It gave you a higher cruising gear. Has anyone seen anything like this in an EV? With a reduction gearbox and buckets of torque available in every EV it would seem an efficient way...
Maybe I'm being a bit petty but I've noticed that many EV drivers are using my local Connected Kerb for periods exceeding 12 hours . As I type ther's one that's been "charging " for 15 hours . There are only two charging posts there thus rendering one unusable for the greater part of the day ...
Well that was interesting ! A quick drive down the A7 to Carlisle and we came across quite a lot of water across the road . It was passable with care but the Lorry’s in the other direction were not slowing too much and of course their spray was covering our cars ?♂️.
Not the first time l have...
Hi, Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace the main battery on an MG car, if it got damaged, i have a 2020 ZS ev and wonder what the cost will be when the car gets older, i have heard it may cost many thousands of pounds.
Any thoughts on whether there is any real difference? Currently looking at a Zappi which has both tethered and untethered options.
It will be in the garage (as that's where I park my car - I know it's unusual... ?), and I'd probably just buy a type2 cable to sit there anyway even with...
Hi all,
Just bought a 2yr old used MG 4 EV with the intention of keeping it for 3 years so i can sell on with some warranty remaining but just wondered what most peoples' plan is when they buy a EV do they plan to keep long term or keep changing ever 3 year period? Does anyone keep beyond the...
Can anyone advise on how to identify the version of my ZS EV. It was registered in 2021. My local dealer parts department seem not to be able to judge if its a 2020 or 2021. I having trouble finding a bumper protector that fits!
Ok guys, here's a serious question.
Electricity and water. Not a good combo.
And unluckily i live in a city where drainage system sucks real bad.
Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America.
Now this doesnt happen every year in every corner. But this continues to happen every rain season (january...
