mg4
The MG4 EV is a battery electricsmall family car (C-segment) produced by the Chinese automotive manufacturer SAIC Motor under the British MG marque. First released in June 2022 as the MG Mulan in China, it is the first vehicle to be based on SAIC's battery electric Modular Scalable Platform (marketed as the Nebula platform in China). It was introduced in Europe as the MG4 EV in July 2022.
Apparently I need a new front shock absorber dust boot, my dealership tells me mg can't supply the dust boots separately and they have to order a shock absorber, this seems nuts to me, there are hundreds of different boot kits on the market, but searching online for one that fits the mg4 and...
7 months ago my 23 plate MG4 trophy was almost written off.....I thought it was, the assessor said no. The front end was completely rebuilt by the insurers appointed bodywork specialist which took 3 months because of parts holdups. The car was then sent to an MG dealer to finalise electrical...
I have seen a few posts about this upgrade but most just link the ones they are planning on getting and no one seems the link the one they got or that link doesnt work anymore. Can anyone link the ones they bought as there are too many choices, preferably I'd like it to light up the back too...
Hi all. The time has come after 48,500kms to change the original bridgestones on my MG4 ER. Looking for input on replacements for Australian hot weather conditions. No ice, snow etc requirements 😀. For the same Bridgestones I have been quoted $415 per tyre. An equiv maxxis EV tyre is around $350...
Very confused about the mls/kWh readings. Sometimes when I start the car it can start as low as 1.8 and slowly increase as the journey proceeds. However the predicted range doesn't seem to increase at all relative to the reading. The car reviews would suggest it should be around 4. I understand...
Winter finally here and tyre pressure warnings cropping up, I bought a cordless air compressor off Temu for £12 delivered. One day to arrive and good piece of kit. Doddle to top up tyre pressure with a quick release valve connector. Also works as a power bank and emergency light.
Hi everyone,
Has anyone found a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter that works reliably with the MG4 64kw Luxury 2024?
I’ve tried multiple devices so far, these are the last two :
HSTOP – inconsistent, frequent black screens after stops
Ottocast U2-Air Pro – set up correctly and updated, but still...
I seem to use less that 1kwh heating for 7kw driving in the winter, does that seem correct this diaply i think can only show 1kwh blocks so all I know is the heating ls 1kwh or less? - I'm getting 3 to 3.5 mile/kw driving steady so there's a 0.5 to 1kwh increase in use over th summer but maybe...
What do people think is the better buy: a 24 plate SE LR which has done 9,000 miles or a 73 plate Trophy that's done 18500 miles. Both just about the same price?
When the OPD is active, a dull knocking sound is heard from underneath, proportional to the rotation speed, when stopping and starting slowly. It is not heard at normal speeds, nor is it heard in normal regen modes. Is this normal when the OPD is active, or is there a problem? The vehicle is...
I've been aware of the keyless boot entry system so didn't give it a second thought when leaving for work in the morning and opening the boot to stick my work gear in without having to use the key to unlock the car as the car key was in my pocket.
When parked at home, the car is reversed up to...
Whilst I am definitely not the most festive person, I took inspiration from Rolfe and decided to change my avatar to something a bit more christmassy (bah humbug)
I charged my car to 100% last night, got in it today and a vehicle control fault error came up along with something about the hv battery and acc not working. The hv battery error and acc error have gone but the vehicle control fault one remains and it tells me to take it to an mg service. Anyone...
Bother these 'seasonal avatars'. You've all changed and I don't recognise anyone anymore :(
That's you @salty, @LenEV2016 and @T1 Terry being the worst offenders.
@Rolfe is not so bad as I can still make out the fur and whiskers under the hat.
As for @Ian Key's AI generated snow-storm -...
Does anyone else with a phase 1 rear passenger window tint find it a tad too dark for visibility - especially at night?
I'm considering removing the rear passenger door tints especially after driving a 25 plate courtesy MG4 which didn't have them - much more visibility and driver friendly in my...
A search on Febi Bilstein [1] gives part numbers Febi 104496 and Febi 196403 for discs & pads respectvely. (BluePrint ADV184375 & ADBP420180 are also given as a match). Complete set (both sides) are about £80, which is about what I paid for a Skoda Yeti.
However, I've approached several...
Yesterday at the umpteenth attempt over the course of two years I have managed to get the drivers side washer jet to hit the right spot on the windscreen . Previously its either too high up , with 60% of the liquid going on the roof or too low and hitting the bottom of the wiper arm and then...
Hi all - I got a MG4 nearly a year ago, and bought two years’worth of servicing from Arnold Clark. Now it seems I have to go to Salford for the first of these. Does anyone know of anywhere closer?
Thanks, Bob
I have had this problem a few times now, my car is on my drive and parked completely locked with nothing on and doors locked yet the app shows this. The time is out by around an hour. My best guess is it’s to do with accepting the policy as I got a notification saying I accepted it on the app...
