Having only used rapid chargers out and about, I decided to try a Type 2 connection on a PodPoint charger (Tesco Express in Baldock). Its a free one. When I decided to stop, I could find no instruction for how to do it. Yank out the connectors? A bit irregular. But anyway they were locked in...
Morning. So I’ve used my podpoint via the app timer system twice this week and no problem
This morning I discovered it hadn’t charged last night and I am a bit flummoxed as to why?. I did exactly what I had done previously, the app confirmed the start and end time. The car confirmed it was...
So today I had my new podpoint installed and set the time to charge from 00.15 tonight to 07.00 on my app.
So I plugged it all in at 22.30 tonight and the car starting charging???.
Am I missing something as I want the car to start charging at 00.15 when it’s on economy 7
Hello. I’ve just had a 7kw podpoint home charger installed. I would like to charge my car between midnight and 7am to make use of economy 7 tariff
Apart from looking at the battery gauge, is there anywhere on the settings where I can see what actual charge my battery has?.
I’m trying to work...
Hi all,
Anybody had any issues with podpoint? I have podpoint installed at my property and to be honest I very rarely use it, as I go into work atleast 3 times a week and charge it there, so I only charge at home when I am desperate. Its been working fine and suddenly, when trying to connect to...
Evening all, noticed on the podpoint app you can now do scheduling. Does this work with the mg5 as I tend to get back around 8pm and plug it straight in, although my cheaper rate starts at midnight. Would be useful to know if anyone had tried.
I'll give it a go tomorrow evening if I remember
It's about charging on cheap off peak elec rates when the MG doesn't have an app like other EVs. My Podpoint charger app seems to offer controlled charging times but has anyone 'out there' experience of it?
Just popped my MG5 on a free Podpoint 7kW at Tesco - activated via the app and all was good. Came back 30 minutes later and tried to release via app - but it didn’t say this was in use and didn’t see anyway to stop
Anyway, called support and they suggested locking and unlocking the car between...
I recently did a rapid charge at Tesco using the Podpoint charger. The cost was £4.75 or so, using my Visa Debit card.
I now see that Podpoint are taking £30 from my bank as well.
Is this just the holding charge, and will be refunded or released in time?
At last I finally got my first Scheduled charge on my PodPoint wall charger.
It was set to start at 0.30am this morning Thursday 29th April and finish at 04.30am to take advantage
of the cheaper tarriff. And Hooray it finally worked. I Woke up to a fully charged car.
Just to let anyone who has a podpoint home charger, you can now update the app to include the scheduled timer facility that was in beta stage for a while. I for one, am very happy this is finally available as the Zs Ev doesn't have timed charging facility built-in to the vehicle
I’ve been told that Beta testing is now full and no more participants are required. Is anyone on here actually taking part and been given the Beta app to test?
How would you rate your experience charging with public Podpoint chargers?
If you have used their chargers, please vote on the poll.
And if you have any additional comments to make, please reply in this thread.
Thanks
I’m still on the timed charging trail! Podpoint don’t seem to be coming up with anything anytime soon - so i thought - can a wifi timer be fitted to the supply to the charger? - and I found this on Amazon;

I have a 7kw podpoint home charger. I know that this has been discussed across several posts and forums but can anyone recommend a way that I can set up a timed charge overnight between 12.30am and 4am to get cheap rates? My car has the 2nd gen bms. I’ve emailed podpoint and asked if they intend...
