Just completed my first long trip in the car. Edinburgh to Leicester and back and here are some thoughts...
Gridserve chargers nice and easy to use, plug in scan your card and off they go (I used the Washington southbound Moto services and the Wetherby services chargers) 79p/kw
JetCharge - pain...
I have painted myself into a corner, and will have to drive 186 miles to my friend's house in Yorkshire on 23rd December. This is too far for the SR to manage on one charge in winter. Every EV in the country is likely to have detached itself from its wall-box teat on that day and decided to set...
50 miles from home a stone chip scared the shizz out of me and ruined my night ?
Waiting on roadside assistance to recover me to home and figure out WTF to do tomorrow. Suggestions appreciated, can’t think right now. I’m assuming auto glass or something as it’s likely not covered by much or is...
Having a trip down to Chichester next weekend, travelling from Manchester. Gonna hit the Fastened charging station @ Abingdon Rd Oxford on the way down which is 168 miles from home and will ultimately use the electroverse app to look for chargers around Brighton, Portsmouth & Chichester. Have...
Just come back from a 5 day break from Nr Peterborough to Poole in Dorset. All was smooth and the hotel (Holiday Inn had some chargers). Made the mistake of connecting to the 7,5 kW and then I noticed it has an automatic extra £10 charge if stay longer than 90 minutes - this was in quite small...
Popped home to North Wales over the weekend to visit my mum. 270 miles each way. On the outbound leg we charged at the Stafford Ionity chargers, 6 units at that location, three free but one was off-line. Arrived with 18% charge (I'd forgotten to set charge to long trip mode the night before so...
We just did a trip over the pas de Morgin and the Grand St Bernard pass from France to Aosta in Italy and back again in one day! It fooled the heck out of the MG4 range predictor. At one point with half full battery it was saying we could go 60 miles.
Headed up to Northern Scotland from West Oxford on Friday and planned a night at Sterling prior to pushing up to Elgin area.
Grand total of 550 odd miles with a lot of motorway stuff.
Good overall, car behaved well and was comfortable for the long run, confirmed Stuart from YouTube's range...
Hi,
I'm planning on taking Rusty home in August (Longwall Street, Oxford not China...!)
I'm going to test out ABRP with the premium account and try to connect live data via the OBD port. ?
Apart from taking him on the Autobahn to see what the max speed is on the return trip, and the traditional...
I know people have previously reported on their "long trip" experiences, and having had the MG4 a couple of months going no further than 60 miles from home, I was looking forward to seeing what sort of experience taking it on holiday would be.
Warwick to Seaton in Devon. Actually only 160...
Had family over visiting recently, so we've been doing the Montana-Sofia mountain pass a couple of times, and have to say the ZS is one of the best cars I've driven on the road. (Dare say there would be better electric cars for it), over the years I've driven the road in everything from Puegoet...
Background. Way back in the post-war years, before she married, my mother was an opera singer, and she sang at the Glyndebourne Festival in (at least) 1949. She was a member of Benjamin Britten's English Opera Group and in the original cast of Albert Herring.
I've been to various music...
Was hoping to do this trip in the MG but still no word from the dealer about any delivery date, so 307 it is. From Brive to Foix 350kms not using autoroutes. Mainly N roads or D roads going through towns on the way, Bad news, did not see one sign for electric charging on route and now at our...
For all those wishing to visit France this summer, we recently made the return journey Brive to Chambery around 960 km , 800 on the peage . Fuel costs in a large Boxer van 130 euros , toll road costs 142 euros. Beware Dick Turpin still lives.
We did a pre journey route planner which estimated...
Tomorrow will be three weeks since we collected Goth Leo, our MG4 SE LR. We have already done nearly 1400 miles. This forum was very helpful as we stepped up to make the decision whether or not to buy Goth Leo, but there was one aspect of it that I was aware of, and that is, in general, folk...
Hi All
Our first trip in the MG5 to France was a success.
We subscribed to charge map and recharged 3 times on our short trip.
Charge points seem to be plentiful and in convenient places.
Total cost €28.40.
n.b. Three glasses of wine and a beer in a sunny riverside cafe was €24.80!
Hi everyone,
Soon to be new MG4 LR owner here (Camden Grey for anyone interested). Due to pick up my car tomorrow morning, then we're off to Cornwall for a week (in the car!)
Obviously I won't have a tonne of time to familiarise myself with all of the ins and outs of the cars functionality...
Petersfield to Manchester Centre managed 3.8 miles per kWh, mainly duel carriageway and motorway. Raining most of the way so aircon, heat, wipers, lights etc on. 100% start, first stop at 175 miles and 4 hours of driving arrived with 28% and 67miles range. 18 mins for a toilet and coffee grab...
