tyre

Tyre (; Arabic: صور, romanized: Ṣūr; Phoenician: ??, romanized: Ṣūr, Greek Tyros, Τύρος) is a city in Lebanon, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, though in medieval times for some centuries by just a tiny population. It was one of the earliest Phoenician metropolises and the legendary birthplace of Europa, her brothers Cadmus and Phoenix, as well as Carthage's founder Dido (Elissa). The city has many ancient sites, including the Tyre Hippodrome, and was added as a whole to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1984. The historian Ernest Renan noted that "One can call Tyre a city of ruins, built out of ruins".Today Tyre is the fourth largest city in Lebanon after Beirut, Tripoli, and Sidon. It is the capital of the Tyre District in the South Governorate. There were approximately 200,000 inhabitants in the Tyre urban area in 2016, including many refugees, as the city hosts three of the twelve Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon: Burj El Shimali, El Buss, and Rashidieh.

    Tyre pressure warning inaccurate

Apologies if there's already a thread for this, but I couldn't find it in a search. Has anyone else had this issue? I've just inflated my tyres as the warning (rightly) reported them a bit low. My problem is that it's still warning me they are low when I know for a fact all tyres are inflated...

I've been replacing my tyres all wrong

According to this article which seems fairly authoritative so have 50% of everyone else. Tyre rotation completely the wrong way round. Now I have learned something. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/364252/half-drivers-think-new-pair-tyres-should-go-cars-front-wheels-theyre-wrong

    Tyre Pressures and Pumps

Two combined topics, if you please. One, I used up the puncture repair fluid within the first week. (see previous post). I don't intend to buy a refill after reading the comments on these forums, but does the compressor bit still work as a pump and pressure check. Two, the pressures recommended...

Australian Space Saving Wheel & Tyre

Has anybody in Australia managed to get a space saving wheel and tyre for an Essence 64? Or has anyone tried the Audi A5 collapsable tyre idea? I’m going outside reasonable ‘roadside assist’ distance in a month and I don’t fancy relying on spray foam kit!

Tyre pressure warning after pumping up [SOLVED]

My pressures were getting a bit low, so I went to a garage and pumped them up to 29psi on the machine. But the sensor in the car is now showing them lower than when I started (21psi)! Is this an error people have seen? They certainly look correctly inflated by eye. Thanks

Why are tyre grooves not evenly spaced?

Noticed that the grooves in the stock MG4 tyres are not evenly spaced. They vary between 2 and 3cm with no particular pattern. This seems to be common, see also images https://www.2ndhandtyresales.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/5ABD3F79-E118-4C2E-B4F6-76511B5564BE.jpeg...

    ISmart email re tyre problem

Back at the beginning of June I highlighted a problem locating a tyre for my MG3 HYBRID following a puncture. I put plenty of posts and received many replies on the forum. However through the MG phone app I also sent an email to the 'smart team. This was on the 7th June, and this evening over...

    Punctures

Had the misfortune to get the dreaded low tyre pressure warning today. Sure enough, bad puncture on ns rear. Pulled onto next garage for air and, lo and behold, two more cars already pulled in with punctures. We'd all come from the same direction/road, so??? Anyway, got the kit out of the boot...

A Space Saver Tyre is a must!

Last Sunday, at 5:15am while on my way to pick up a friend - (we were both playing golf), I was about 2ks from his place when my front driver's side tyre blew. Result; a 5mm hole in the sidewall a goo kit would have been useless! And at that time/day, roadside assist and a replacement tyre would...

    Tyre load rating

Hi all I am about to replace the front tyres and I have assumed we need to have a 96 load rating. However on the forum I have noticed some people looking at tyres with a lower rating, down to 92. What do people think can we use a lower load rating as the car isn’t terribly heavy? Looking for...

    ER stock tyre life

Simply wondering if any ER owners have replaced their original Bridgestone tyres yet, not because they wanted something better but because the tyres had reached the end of their life? After how many miles?

    Reread your service plan

If you have bought a service plan from your dealer it can be worth rereading the agreement as I found out. I had a low pressure warning on the front n/s tyre and decided to investigate and found a self-tapping screw had done what it does best and embedded itself into the tyre between the tread...

Impact of KERS on tyre wear

Hi I saw a post recently that suggested that KERS resulted in the tyres wearing quickly, especially if you use KERS 3. I usually drive Normal and 3 but after seeing that post I've switched to 2. I do a lot of miles 44k since November 21. Have changed fronts once (Falken-good)and rears will need...
