12v Auxiliary Battery

Any advice would be Grateful i have a 74 trophy at the moment i do less than 50 miles a week in the EV i would like to keep the 12 volt aux battery in a good state. While using it on the sort journeys the 12 volt system does not seem to got above 75% state of charge because of the sort journeys its charging at a rate of 14.3v to 14.6v which i think is ok is it ok use use a trickle/maintenance battery charger on the vehicle or should the HV system kick in at some point to keep the 12 volt in a good state.Also when charging the HV battery does it also charge the 12 volt system at the same time thanks for any help.

I've had my MG5 PFL for 2 years no 12 volt battery problems .I do ,however , carry a Noco battery booster just in case . Gives me peace of mind even if it made a small dent in my bank balance

How are you seeing the 12V battery SOC at 75%?

I use a BM2 battery monitor from Amazon on my 4 year old PFL 5. Probably overkill but it shows the battery to be in good heart.

by looking on the dash menu its got like a 100% clock its around the 75% mark

I don't have a problem as of yet but i would like to prevent any in the future.

The 12V aux is charged when READY or during a charging session. It may not be fully topped up during short journeys. There is no automatic 12V maintenance when the car is switched off.

No need for a trickle charger, just turn on the car (READY) and leave it for an hour or so or charge it overnight…

I just start mine every now and than using the app and this puts charge into the +12 volt battery automatically no need to go for a drive .
