That's nothing for September.....

Was quite alarmed until I realised these figures cover the entire west of Leeds, a city of 820,000 people.

(Although it gives the same for Glasgow, so all it means is that the link doesn't cover Police Scotland areas)

Nowhere near as much as the overuse of the word "Consultant". Used to mean a highly qualified, massively experienced medical specialist - now means a trainee estate agent in a Primark suit and hair gel trying to flog dodgy buy-to-lets.

The kind way of looking at it is that it's a stepping stone for people who are inexperienced or not very talented to aspire or at least feel a little bit better about themselves. If it encourages people to take a job then that's one more person making a contribution and one less government artist (drawing the dole).

Personally all I could ever do was a basic office job and now voluntary work in retirement. A nail "technician" would be a step up for me but I would then study advanced iron mongery.
