We have a Sept 23 MG5 Trophy, does anyone know if these work OK on Tesla Superchargers. We have a few days away next week and will be hopefully charging at the Trafford Centre on Sunday (fingers crossed). If nobody knows the definitive answer I'll let you know LOL.

The answer is a definite maybe. Try it or call your dealer and they should be able to tell you if the update has been done. My gut feel is that it is late enough to have been done.

Is there a known software revision level thats needed, in which case i can probably check?

Not for FL cars. If your car is up to date it should be ok. Again the dealer can access that information for you.

I have 23 plate MG5 Trophy - always worked at Tesla charging stations, so far not updated SW.

I got my FL Dec 22 have had all the services. Wouldn’t charge on Tesla then my dealer did the update for free a few months ago and now works.

I have the MG5 LR Trophy (2023) and have tried several Tesla chargers but no luck getting any to work. I get as far as app and trying to connect but never further.

Needs the update. Contact your dealer.

Well I called in at Trafford centre in Manchester and ……… our MG5 wouldn’t charge on the Tesla chargers ?
Just proves the point that MG classifies the ability to use open Tesla chargers an enhancement, i.e. no MG5 is sold with the required EVCC upgrade already performed…

That isn’t my viewpoint. I see it as a bug in the MG firmware which they will sort out FOC. If they try anything like charging me for an upgrade etc they will regret it!

You've possibly seen me say this in other threads but Luscombe's Leeds did the 'tesla update' (their words) FoC at first service for my 2023 FL MG5

Thanks guys, I'll check with my supllying dealer (Minstergate Hull) and see what they have to say, if theres an issue I'll go to Leeds.

Regards - John
