2nd service

So do we have to pay for the software updates as we go along then? A shame you can’t connect to WiFi and just download it yourself!
You can generally get updates done if there’s a fix for something and you inform your dealer you’re having problems with the particular thing it fixes

£240 from Bristol MG but £140 from Cleevely plus whatever they need to do - they only change brake fluid if necessary after testing. They confirm manufacturer's warranty is unaffected. As I've done under 12,000 miles I don't expect there will be much. No software updates unfortunately, but at some point I might contact the dealer about those separately.
The only thing with Cleevely is that you've no chance at all of any software updates. But their actual service will be much better than a dealer's because they'll actually look at things and give advice on things that really need doing, not just what a dealer wants to upsell you on. :)

Which if your car receives OTAs really doesn't matter

Yes hopefully at some point in the future there will be more independent ev garages around

I used Unity MG in Coventry for my 2nd year service, they do a low mileage/high mileage service. My SE SR had done 10500 in two years so qualified for the low mileage option which was the full MG scheduled service for £169.

Dealers are telling me that MG have now scrapped the low milage service option. They only offer the single - higher priced - option.

To be fair, for a couple of quid, I would rather have parts and items changed on a 1yr / 15k (or 10k) whatever the limit is, full service to keep things in check, rather than something needing attention outside of the schedule because it wasn't deemed needed at service time.
Less to do and go wrong on EV's but it is still a fairly new concept of what needs changing and when.

had my wife's car 2nd year service under the 4 year plan (£179 instead of £250) but they messed up the brakes and we've been without a car for 3 weeks whilst the warranty thing kicks in. Because the nearest dealer is 40+ miles away we've decided to sell the car (when or if we get it back) and buy a KIA EV3 with a dealer 13 miles away

We take delivery of a new Trophy on Monday 3rd of March an we have been offered a service package at £16 a month. I think I will accept this as my wife pays £30 a month for a Vauxhall Mokka and I was paying £28 for my BMW, so £16 seems a good price. This is from Sandicliffes of Nottingham.

That's £576 for 3 years IF the price stays the same throughout.
Do they do a 3 year one off payment service plan?
Does it include the MOT in the third year?
Does it include a courtesy car while its being serviced?

You don't have to have a service plan from the supplying dealer. I bought my MG4 from Sandicliffe in Nottingham but have a service plan with Stoneacre Derby.

Part of the second service as I understand is to change the battery coolant guess if this is correct then that would make for the higher cost. Also brake fluid can absorb moisture and with no combustion engine heating it in it’s reservoir may be more critical

Just had second service done, I changed the battery on your key and the price reduced from £236 to £227, small saving but every little helps. What worries me is there is no book to stamp, and you cannot see the document even online, so make sure you get the invoice and keep safe
