3 weeks with MG5 and a couple of questions.

So I’ve had my 5 for 3 weeks and really pleased with it. Couple of silly questions - what is the difference in Eco, Comfort and Sport modes - I assume sport is more responsive but will use more battery? Can’t tell difference between comfort and Eco. Also when fully charged it shows a range of about 310 miles but I seem to be getting about 22 miles per 10% battery use so I guess the range display isnt very accurate! Doing my first long (300 mile return) journey next week so will be tapping into a public charger for the first time which I’ll do when I get to Cheltenham. For motorway driving what is most efficient - Eco/adaptive cruise at 70? Also how much do things like the lane assist function drain the battery?

Apologies for the question dump
When I drove my MG5 I always put it in ECO. I just got into the habit of changing it every time I got in - to my mind it gave better range, and no discernible loss of performance. Driving on motorway at 70 will hurt the range, for sure. If you want to get the most between stops then stick to 60mph. At the end of the day you'll get there quicker at 70 but have to charge longer, at 60 you'll get there slower but will have to charge up less, so swings and roundabouts. In the end I was getting near 5miles/kWh in the summer once I'd learnt to drive it economically ... also worth considering turning regen down as low as possible, sounds wrong but the car will coast better if regen is low and that, it turns out, gives better range when cruising on motorway ... well in theory at least ;)

Regen really doesn't make any difference to range unless you don't have good control of the throttle pedal. The regen setting just limits the amount of regen available when you lift the throttle. It is quite possible to coast with regen on level 3. It is more of a matter of preference of how you want the car to react to to lifting the throttle.
I stopped using ECO mode after the first couple of weeks. I didn't like what it did to the air conditioning and I realised that range anxiety is mainly a made up thing that I don't need to worry about.. If I need a little more range I'll drive slower.

I didn't like what Eco mode did to the steering, made it so light. I always drove in Normal.
