Hi,
Anyone know if the arrow on the filter should point up or down?

Hi Ori …. Can you please describe how you got to get to the filter please as I’ve bought a replacement one for the 2 yr service, but now can’t work out how to change it !! Thanks so much.

Don't worry Ori .. have found out how to do it.

Despite all my past experience with the Cabin Filter being accessible from the cabin and either behind the glove box or the central console .... on the MG4, it's under the bonnet !

MG4 Cabin Filter change

It is very easy to change by yourself .. but .. be warned, there are 3 small tabs that need to be moved/opened in order to get the filter entrance panel off. These are very brittle and in this cold, one of mine broke :-(

If anyone thinks about omitting this filter change , I'd recommend a re-think as you can see from the state of my old and new filter.

As an aside my car is now 2 years old and on approx 25k miles and hence due it's 2nd service which consists of a brake fluid change, cabin filter change and fob battery changes. Absolutely rip off prices from dealers ie £260 up to £320 for just that. I got a local mechanic to do the brake fluid change for under £150, bought the official MG filter for £37 and the fob batteries were about £5.

The thing about the servicing is you need to get it done "officially" (i.e. recorded) to maintain certain aspects of the warranty. (e.g. the paint warranty, and maybe also the HV battery one). Plus official servicing also renews MG Assist (i.e. AA cover).
