A good alternative EV

I was a Leyland kind of guy.

Maxi, Ital, 2x Metro, 1x Maestro 2 x Monty estate, one petrol, one Perkins. A R111, R414. I really wanted a first gen R800, but never got there.

A colleague (too) many years ago had an XR2. He loved it, except for low speed driving as it was an earlier one without power assisted steering. :)

Mine was one of the last to be made and its lack of power steering was one reason I only kept it for five years. (The other was its lack of air conditioning.)

I never really got into Fords, I had a bog std Mk2 escort, ditto mk2 Fiest (the last car was a Fiesta, Had loads of Trannies, I had a Mk2 Granada 2.8 Ghia, cracking car, but PXd it for a Chevvy C10 pickup, so had more than I thought.

Crikey. I have had five cars (two Fords, a Peugeot, a VW and the MG) in my entire life.

Oh I can't do bikes too, First bike was a 197cc DOT scrambler clueless on year but I was only 11, I swapped it for a crappy reel to reel tape deck, my dad went ape sh1t :D :D and I've had dozens of bikes since then, just the ones I can remember, 5 Harleys, 3 Wings a 1200 & 2 1500, a Kwak VN 1500, 4, BMWs, 2 Moto guzzis, a couple of CX 500s, Passed my test on a Yam YDS2, I had a CB72 for a while, and a Beamish Suzuki, that's all my old brain is coughing up but there are more, a CB500T etc.

that's a bigger list than a car thief:eek:

Better not get onto my jobs list, I probably had more jobs in the 60's than most have in a lifetime. I had three jobs in one day back then, and there were more jobs than people to fill them, the "Labour exchange" was empty of people but full of jobs, they would send you to many in one go, and if you could walk and talk you got the job unless they needed skills you didn't have but, so you'd turn up have a proper look at the job and if you didn't care for it or the people/place off you went to the next one, apologise for being late and carry on.

The Honda engined one.
That'll be the Roy Axe car from 89.
From memory there were two Honda 1.6s, A SOHC and a DOHC.

I agree with you, these cars were little crackers. Basically a Roverised Honda Concerto.

And yes, much as I liked the S series lump, the Honda motor was better.
