Advice for a new ev buyer

Unfortunately, we are really struggling to find anything suitable. We need to tow about 500Kg, good ground clearance to access our house, reasonably flat boot space when the seats are down (Picasso is brilliant for that) and would like 200+ mile real range for holidays. Very disappointed with the MG ZS because it has an "armrest" central console, which you bang your elbows on.
Newer 5 seat eberlingo might fit the requirements but it’s a bit pricey for what it is.

New EVs coming out all the time. Many of them SUV type things which presumably have more clearance. Hopefully one will meet your criteria.

Yes, it was on our list. Although it can tow, the range is quite low, especially when towing.
The range on any EV is going to be hugely impacted by towing. If you are doing a lot of long distance towing a hybrid might be a better bet.

The newer e berlingo has a decent real world mileage improvement over the old one - over 200 miles

It's all about how much you want to spend, there are plenty of options but ZS is one of the best value for money EV. If the central armrest is in your way, you can lift your seat as needed so that your elbow rests on it; if you are driving, your elbows are nowhere near...
There is new C3 EV out now at about £20K starting price, check it out, might be good.

Thanks yes, we are hoping to test drive one, if we can find one, and see if it's a real bother. Several people say it's not a problem and I see many new cars have them. Coming from an old manual with gear stick, it struck us as odd.
