I picked up a new MG4 LR Trophy last week. I noticed that the offside rear wheel cover wasn't on properly. I wish now I'd mentioned it to the dealer but I just pushed it back on and drove home. When I arrived home the cover was close to falling off completely.

Since then I have tried many times to put the cover back on securely and each time it has come loose when driving.

I've closely examined the cover and the alloy wheel and can't see any reason why it should keep coming off.

Unfortunately the dealer garage is a 100 mile round trip so I would prefer to fix it myself if possible.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have never taken mine off but it is common for covers to need a good hard push to make sure they click in. Once in they should not be easy to prise out anywhere - if there is a patch where it is easy to prise out, that's where there may be a broken clip.

Just check that it isn't fouling the tyre valve, possibly the orientation is wrong.

Pull it off and make sure that its got the 5 stainless inserts in the 5 latching pegs.
