After Market Tinted Windows? Maybe not.

Received a reply to my email from MG as below:

I can understand that if the heated rear screen is damaged by the tinted window installers then it is quite understandable that the warranty would not cover that.
But I cannot see why adding tint film to the windows could lead to no cover of the mechanical parts within the door that were never touched.

I guess it would be a case of arguing the relevant issue. But I would hope common sense would play a part!

So, if someone changed the wheels that could lead to no cover for the suspension and drive train.........

I guess if the film began to disattach itself and when the window was lowered and should the film scroll up and jam and then this jammed the mechanism or caused excessive drag and load on the electric motor so that it burnt out .... etc then it might not be covered.

More likely some customer service bod has spent the best part of a day scratching some part of their anatomy thinking up some reply to cover themselves just-in-case without having any idea about how a car works or what might affect what.

Good point, I've never had tints come away and did not give that scenario a thought.
