It crossed my mind when driving briefly this morning...

Is the car going to heat up inside quicker and using less juice, if it's on recirculate?
My thinking - it's not bringing cold fresh air in from outside that it then has to heat up.

Has anyone properly tested this out?

I'm after any little gain to save some juice whist not freezing!!!!
Couldn't use the car for work journey on 2 consecutive days this week, as couldn't get enough charge into it overnight on the granny charger :(

I’m not sure that the gains would be that great i’m afraid. The main draw is the heating element which are still being used. There are gains by reducing the heating red bars a little but again not massive. Worth a try.

The granny charger is a waste of space, get a home charger, you won't regret it.

I always run recirc (with AC) for a minute or two to warm up or cool down the car faster..

For heating it will be quicker but for demisting, fresh is better. There is a video knocking around on YouTube of a guy trying various things, I will have to fish it out...

If you run the recirc only with the heater on, it will heat the car a little quicker because it is not drawing cold air from the outside.
I find this to be true, however you will notice that it will start to steam up the side windows.
Release the the recirc button as soon you seen this happening.
I find the recirc button really handy if you are waiting at traffic lights behind a ICE car, it avoids bringing in them exhaust fumes etc.

Shouldn't be too bad if you have the Exclusive it has the fancy filter.

Hi Dave - Yeah I believe the "Exclusive" model has the HEPA filter only sorry.
Not a Tesla with "Bio Defence Filter" - but anything that helps reduce that smell and toxic fumes from entering the car are a welcome addition.
Handy to reduce the smell when they are muck spreading on the fields close in our village.
Why do they do they always pick to carry out this task on a nice day, when people are in their gardens ?????.
It must be done on purpose !. LOL

This filter works best in recirculation mode! I seem to remember TeslaBjorn testing this last year when in Thailand in his MG.
???, I think iI saw that one, I think it worked great for him to get rid of all the food smells when he cooks in the carb and his smelly socks when he sleeps in the car?? as it would in a house, but one of the great things about HEPA filters is for hayfever sufferers in its supposed to trap most of the pollen spores as well as reducing smells externally and internally and you should see less dust and debris on your dash?
