I'm not wanting to answer on StackH's behalf but after having my Megane for a couple of weeks, it's a great car.Go on. tell us more.
I'd be interested in a megan comparison + a bit of info on discounts etc![]()
Not sure if this will be deemed off topic or talking about the competition, but here goes. All my opinion, obviously...Go on. tell us more.

In all the questions I've been asked about the differences I forgot one thing it has a rear wiper? I think you mentioned it though. Not sure if this will be deemed off topic or talking about the competition, but here goes. All my opinion, obviously...
It has a rear wiper.
Generally the car feels much better quality wise, although you'd obviously expect that with the increase in price. Full sleek alloys (20" no less) rather than aero covers, seat material that looks like it should last, and a light and airy cabin with some ambient lighting and, ahem, rear courtesy lights. It felt sprightly enough, and the regen can be adjusted with paddles, although it creeps like the MG4 so no one pedal driving unless it was an option in the settings I missed.
There's a wiper on the rear window.
The Google based infotainment is really, really good, and AA and CarPlay are wireless. It has a rear camera but not 360 cameras, which is the one thing the Trophy had. Time will tell if I regret that, but it does also have blind spot and rear cross traffic warnings.
Did I mention the rear wiper?
I tried my luck with it being both end of month and end of year, and sure enough they were obviously a bit short of quota or had a spare vehicle to shift. Managed to get around £1250 off the Megane and also around £1k more for my current car than WBAC. In fact, the MG dealer didn't seem interested in my car, so trading it in is another bonus because it means I don't have to do the legwork to sell it.
Good choice. For us it ultimately came down to choosing between the Ioniq 5 and mg4. Heart said Ioniq 5 but (Yorkshire) head said mg4.I too decided to cancel my MG4 order two weeks ago. There were just too many issues arising on the Forum. I am getting my Ioniq 5 in Feb -it is much more expensive and in my view the MG 4 is better and more exciting to drive but the issues and winter range loss are too much of a worry for me and I dont want to be going back to the MG dealer endlessly with recalls as its not that near me. The Ioniq 5 has a MY23 update where some issues such as suspension have been sorted and a bigger 77KW battery, heat pump as standard And battery preconditioning. In a years time the MG will I am sure be sorted or sooner i hope for those taking the plunge.
I looked at the Ioniq 5 but The delivery times stopped me from exploring further. I liked the Megane when I was driving it but the rear space was hilariously tight for me being 6'5. I literally couldn't shut the door when sitting behind the Mrs and the headroom was awful. Both of these are no problem in the mg4.
Yeah, it’s not massively roomy back there. But for us it’s fine, we have no kids and my wife has a Tiguan if we need space. I can honestly say that in the 4 years I’ve owned my current Merc A250 the back seats have been used no more than a couple of times.I liked the Megane when I was driving it but the rear space was hilariously tight for me being 6'5. It's not a regular occurrence granted but being tall tends to mean that your relatives are tall too.Why would you sit in the back of your own car?
Are you in the habit of carrying other 6’5 passengers?
It seems like a really weird criticism.
Loads of room in the front and I've had 2 6fters in the back and they said they were fine, head and knee, I think you'd struggle with a third adult on anything other than short journeys thoughYeah, it’s not massively roomy back there. It would accommodate us, just. I wouldn't say plenty, but would work for a medium length trip. The most impressive thing about the 4 is the shape of the dash in the passenger seat. If I move the seat as far forward as I am comfortable there is loads of space behind me. The Enyaq was really bad in this regard. It’s interesting that the MG4 accommodates you ok. There must be plenty of room!
The Ariya is a surprise there. It would accommodate us, just. I wouldn't say plenty, but would work for a medium length trip. Of all the EV's I've tested, I would say the space order is:
Ioniq 5
Niro, mg4
Born, ID3
Leaf
Enyaq
Ariya
Megane
For us too. In the driver's seat my head was rubbing on the roof and there was very little headroom in the rear. I was hoping for a bigger leaf yet they somehow made it bigger on the outside yet smaller inside. The Ariya is a surprise there.
I had an order in for both -ordered the Ioniq 5 in Sept (i live in Ireland so might be different lead)I looked at the Ioniq 5 but The delivery times stopped me from exploring further. Feb is really quick, are they now available with shorter delivery times?
