Is there a software update in the meantime that solves the problems with Android auto and carplay, so that the connection does not constantly drop. Also the radio that stutters.

Updating the infotainment software to R59 should improve the situation.

@Rolfe This probably needs moving to the general MG4 threads.

Well, this is annoying.
Up until now (since December 2022) with all the different revisions of the infotainment system that has been loaded and superseded over that time, Android Auto has worked, sort of, flawlessly. I'm currently on R46.

Tonight however.....

It may be just coincidence, but I bought and installed an OBD2 dongle (Maclean MCE200) as approved for use with ABRP in the car. Firstly, I couldn't find any sensible data reported by Torque Pro (how do you tell it that it's an electric vehicle??), so I moved on to see how ABRP behaved with it. Well, there's the problem. ABRP won't work in the car now because Android Auto no longer works, even after removing the OBD2 dongle.

The phone says that Android Auto is connected to the phone:

However the MG4 sez no.....

So, who's lying to me, the car or the phone?? To rub salt into the wound, the driver's door button is now playing up

Could it be a battery getting old? Either the 12V battery or the small cell in the key fob.

It might be that the 12V battery will work better after an overnight charge from an ordinarily 12V car battery charger.
I mean the button on the door handle. Sometimes it works first push but sometimes it needs to be held in for around 10 seconds or so. Sometimes it won't work at all. The passenger side door button is fine, as is the key fob and the app V?V.
I think the issue with Android Auto and now the door button means a trip to the dealer ☹️

@Ian Key Thanks, I'll make an appointment at the garage and hope that this will solve the problem.
I have contacted the garage. The man there indicated that I should still use a good USB cable. So in the meantime I ordered a new cable. According to my wife it now works without any dropouts. Next week I will make some time to get started with it myself and plan a ride with Waze or Maps. To be continued...

I have tested it myself now and it works now without the connection dropping out all the time. Solved. Update software will be done during maintenance in January 25
