In theory the speedo should show on Google maps after a recentish (1 year ?) update. I for the life of me cannot get it to appear. Has anyone else had any success ?
Speedo works fine on Waze.

I'm using AmiGO at the moment, and Waze before that. From memory GMaps only shows the speedo whilst you're following a route - it doesn't show it all the time. The other 2 show the current speed and speed limit all the time.

I've not seen it - speed limit yes, just not current speed

I can't see it despite all the correct settings even while navigating. I flirted with AmiGo for a while and have gone off Waze because of the stupid routes designed to save 1 minute.

Have you got mobile data on your phone? It won't show speed limits without it.

On the recommendation of @siteguru I tried out AmiGo today. My preFL MG5 pretty much matched speeds up to around 20mph but then slowly slipped to around 2mph discrepancy at 70mph, the car reading higher than the GPS speed shown on the app. AmiGo has a very useful feature in sections of traffic where average speed is being monitored by cameras and lets you know what you've been doing over that section!

AmiGO (and others) shows GPS speed (as you surmise), and most cars will read higher on the speedo than GPS speed. The exception to that rule seems to be the MG4, as mine speedo matches GPS speed all the way to 70+ mph. :)
