Android Auto not working on my zs ev.

I'm not fully convinced it's the cable for a lot of people.

I've used a few different cables.

Regardless of the cable, I have periods where for several months, it can be 100% rock solid with no issues, and then suddenly you get it connecting and reconnecting, and then a sudden inability to connect at all.

The most annoying problem is where the music or podcast you are playing starts and then stops instantly, with the only way to get to play again is to unplug and plug in again.

Some Android auto updates seem to trigger it, and then it goes back to totally reliable again.

the thing is, it could be anything - half the posts on this forum (not only this thread) don't even explain what the problem is, just something random, "huh, xyz not working" ..

on the subject of cables - I learned my lesson well - I bought many "fast charge" cables all over the place and when tested with the genuine fast charger, some of the cables report as "slow charge" ! most of the times, USB cable is most likely culprit for AA not connecting to the car so it's the best place to start with ...

I got one of the above wireless AA dongles and when I first connected it, Spotify would play then stop then play, stop, play stop in regular intervals, every 10 seconds or so ... first thought-gosh, wasted money, ZS can't cope !

so imagine me posting: "AA not working on my ZS, music stops every 10 seconds, terrible infotainment ... but it works fine in my Audi, my wife's Ford and my neighbour's Mazda, no problems !!! "

what happened in my case was that the car connected to my phone Bluetooth as soon as I turned it on (as it should) and then I connected my phone Bluetooth to the AA dongle - there was obviously conflict on my phone with both trying to connect at the same time and disrupting Spotify playing on AA... disconnected the car from my Bluetooth and since then the phone figured out what to do: no AA dongle - connect to ZS ; dongle in-connect to AA and prioritise it over ZS. few clicks, few seconds job and works like a dream ..

just one example of how something so simple could be seen as a massive issue ...

I did this but no luck, when the Andrio Auto connects it pairs to the car bluetooth automatically. I too believe the conflict is the reason why that happening, I just did a rest again to give it another go. Fingers crossed.

Hi have a hs trophy 2023 same problems..my issue is crazy now ..I was about to give up so I tried a old phone on android 12..it worked good and on a cheap 1£ lead from pound shop it's all crazy..iam convinced its the head unit software..I've also bought a WiFi adapter yes it works but still a bit unsuitable in the mg but perfect in my vauxhall grandland
