I have left the phone on top of the dashboard but still have had the same issues, I was in North Wales today and during the last part of my journey it lagged and then I missed my turning which was so annoying.
That was my experience with a very similar set up. If you press and hold the home button, a clock appears on the screen, and it seems to reset and clear out data. Press it again to bring back the home screen and Google Maps will be OK 'til the available data capacity fills up again.Since many obviously have no problems, it may be due to a certain constellation of software and hardware. Therefore, I share my configuration here: Samsung S21, Android 13, Android Auto Vers. 8.7.630264, Waze and Google Maps + Spotify. My MG EHS just shipped and has all new software updates.
Waze, Google Maps and Spotify display work very delayed (3 to 10sec.) after a short time. But only on the media display of the MG. On the smartphone it runs normally.
Am grateful for any tips.
Thanks for the tip. This does not solve the problem, but it is a workaround. That was my experience with a very similar set up. TomTom amigo is no better. Maybe worseJust adding in that I'm also having problems. I tried using Waze and navigation has the same problem there. I briefly tried AmiGo from TomTom yesterday and will test that on my work drives today as it seemed better than Google Maps yesterday
we came from an i20 due to issues with the windscreen and wish we would have stayed on it or gone to a kona ....I'm now driving a Hyundai Tucson. Same phone, same cable, no issues with delay on Google maps.
All the evidence seem to point to the problem being the processing capacity of the MG display system.
google have said they have updated android auto and maps, this needs a head unit update, will try hear maps but I have my doubtsI think it's an issue with Google maps. I've installed a new maps app called HereWeGo and that's stopped Android Auto running slow
Running a Google Pixel 7 on a 72 plate HS PHEV in case it makes any differenceOk. Have a go and come back and let me know because its totally fixed my issues.
Didn't try the voice command. Is this voice input or a finger tapping job?
Thanks, as you didn't try voice command, can I assume it has voice command? I didn't note any mention of this on the app info.Didn't try the voice command.
But app is free , easy to use and gives you possibility to run offline maps.
Different languages are also available to download.
This is the only navigation map which is not freezing the screen as it happens with google maps / waze / sygic / on my MG EHS PHEV which is frustrating.
Carplay from apple is much better and optimized. Even google products works better on iphones. Thats a shame.
I know on my Pixel if I ask for a location and last used HereWeGo it will do a route on that app. I think there's voice in app but can't remember 100%Thanks, as you didn't try voice command, can I assume it has voice command? I didn't note any mention of this on the app info.
