(Post updated to say privacy instead of tinted)

I’m waiting on my white SE which I’ve been told may or may not arrive with privacy glass. I suspect the latter.

Just wondering if anyone has a non-privacy version and could post up pics to see what it looks like?

A big positive going for the white was the nice contrast with the black trim and dark windows so wondering what it looks like without them…

It'll definitely come with tinted glass - if it doesn't then it won't meet specification. However it may or may not come with privacy glass - that was the mis-build for the first batch. ;)

Cheers. Someone needs to make my local dealer aware then, as he worded it in his email that it may or may not come with ‘tinted’ glass and they don’t know. Handy eh! ??‍♂️

I’ve updated the thread title and first post.

Anyone have pics of an SE with non-privacy (just tinted) rear glass?

Here's a link to a Youtube short video that shows an EU spec white SE from Various angles without the privacy rears.

Added some showing it with privacy for comparison

Also grabbed a couple of shots from some other eu review vids on a black or grey car. Not seen any UK spec yet without just yet.

double edged sword, the free pprivacy glass looked better but the lack of light in the back even during the day means that its not all bad if it doesnt have it

Wow! I think that makes a huge difference when looking at these photos anyway. Particularly with white or black cars I think it’s really noticeable.

Added some comparison shots showing similar UK vehicles with the privacy glass to my post above.
For whats its worth, we have a grey SE LR on order and tbh seeing these I'm not to fussed either way if it came with it or not.

But would agree that I think it does work well on the brighter/lighter coloured MG4s. Our current family wagon is a white car with black pano roof and rear privacy and the contrast does work particularly nicely.

so should all MG4's regardless of spec come with tinted or privacy rear window ? As far as I can tell, for me the front and rear window look exactly the same

In the UK the Trophy has tinted front windows and privacy glass rear windows the other specs have tinted glass all round. The exception is the first few SEs had tinted front and privacy rears, the same as the Trophy, because they made a mistake at the factory.

You can find the specifications on MG's website

my car looks like the first photo Hboutdat posted. ie. no noticeable difference between front and rear windows. In the second photo there is a noticeable difference

I guess I'm a little confused if there is some minor level of tint on the window which satisfies the spec ?

The first batch of SE cars when the MG4 first released came with Privacy Glass but this was a mistake out of the garage, it was soon rectified and was removed from the SE... So any new SE or SE Long Range will come with clear glass.

I found this out when my first SE was tinted but my much newer SE Long Range was not, I managed to get a quote for £100 for the rear tinting to 20%

BrownChair, why have you still got that car? Nobody has had a reliable fix for the power limitation that I've heard of.

My car came without privacy glass in the rear, which is what I was expecting. I really don't like it and I would have been a bit miffed if it had materialised.

My SE SR has the very dark privacy glass at the rear, so must have been one of the early mistakes. I quite like it, you can't see anything on the back seat. I never have anyone in the back, so no-one worries it's really dark without a light back there.
