Is there coming upgrade for Apple CarPlay? Because the new maps app can find free chargers.

Why would you need an update for CarPlay? CarPlay is only responsible for displaying your phone apps on the car screen. The apps still run on the phone and get updated there.

That's right, but apple has made it possible to communicate with the car for apple maps. To see the chargers and to know how often you have to charge, taking into account the consumption. This has been possible since iOS 16.5. For this, a link must be made possible, such as the ismart app

Interesting, I didn't know that. However, given MG's past when it comes to software, I wouldn't hold my breath for that to be available anytime soon, if ever.

My 2022 ZS EV (I believe it’s Trophy Connect) has Apple CarPlay, though only works with a USB cord attached. I’ve researched and attempted many times the setup to make it wireless and it doesn’t seem to work. Is it false that the CarPlay is wireless?
While I’m here how do I know if my car is Trophy Connect? Imported my car from Thailand by way of Japanese dealer to reach Bermuda and my manual and voice commands are in Thai. Also the iSmart badge on my car with app though the QR code no longer appears on the infotainment system app to connect.
Lots of questions for small items as a result of an import car, though I love the car.

the Trophy Connect comes with internet and amazon music, which requires an amazon prime acc and internet. press the * button on the steering wheel. or swipe down on the screen. this will show a menu which allows you to turn on hotspot and data management (internet). If the data management auto turns off you may have to wait until the 1st of the month for data (1GB) renewal

Apple Car Play generally is wired not wireless. There are some car models that can connect wirelessly but not MGs. You can read more about wired/wireless CarPlay here How to Add Wireless Carplay to Your Vehicle

I wanted to take advantage of the MagSafe battery charging on my mobile phone so I purchased a wireless CarPlay adapter. It works quite well and now I just place my phone on the charging mat at the front of the centre console.
