Anyone else experience this and if so is there a fix?
I have used Waze for 8-10 years and pleased to have CarPlay in the MG4.
Since the software update in July I have a new “bug” which is annoying if not sometimes a proper issue:

When using Waze in CarPlay and indicate, if stopped or sufficiently slowed, the camera system kicks in - fair enough. However when the camera goes off as speed picks up it initially goes to the Home Screen and then after a varying amount of seconds switches back to CarPlay. However randomly but maybe a few times in and hour journey it won’t load CarPlay and if you select it from the screen, CarPlay is totally black. The only way I have found to clear it is to slow again and indicate to kick the camera in and then it comes back fine.

It’s particularly annoying when using navigation as most likely I am somewhere I don’t know, keen to indicate to other drivers and then don’t know my next move.

Before the software update, there was a similar issue where CarPlay would go black (maybe over bumps strangely) but the fix was to hit home and then CarPlay and all was fine.

Is there a way to report stuff to MG for a future update?

Might be more a CarPlay issue but than Waze but as Waze always loads when I plug the phone in and that's my experience.

Any thoughts or advice welcome.

Do you use the cameras when they come on automatically? If not a work around might be to just turn off the automatic triggering of the cameras.

If I remember correctly you can do that by manually turning on the 360° camera through the infotainment screen, then clicking the little cog symbol in the corner for options.

I have instances where the CarPlay screen goes black but it’s either when I select CarPlay too quickly after starting the car, or at random when driving it sometimes seems like the whole infotainment system reboots. Waiting for that to happen does take me back to CarPlay though.

You can add it to the Wish List thread pinned to the top of this forum. In theory, we'll eventually distill a reasonable sized list of frequently requested updates, and present them to MG. Hopefully coming from this forum will carry some weight.

Thank you so much - a game changer 😁.

Don’t favour the camera when indicating but despite several research sessions in the last 6 months could never find an option to disable and assume fitness one of those NCAP features that couldn’t be turned off.
Even when I followed your prompts it’s took me a good few seconds to locate the settings icon on the 360 camera page.

Immediately disabled and a journey home (which I was unfamiliar with) and no lock out. I can deal with the he odd one.

So much better already.
