Mod: This is a new thread created out of a derail, describing @Archev's project to modify his Berlingo EV van to sleep in overnight.

Work still in progress but this is the sleep platform unfolded from the boot area, bridging the nearside folded rear seats and supported on the folded front seat. The latter part slides out of the centre section.
I think I’ll pay a visit to ikea tomorrow to check out cushions/ mattress toppers for the sleep mat. I have an air bed but I want to investigate what else might be available.

And the sleep platform slid together and folded back into the boot. Still a wee bit heavy but I’m judiciously chopping out holes here and there to reduce weight hopefully without losing strength. Getting somewhere slowly now that I’ve got a new garage roof to work under.

That's great, Archie! Does the Berlingo have VtL?
Sadly no. Apparently there is a similar thing available for the commercial Berlingo vans but not for me. That’s why I bought the power bank and folding solar panels. The panels work well hung on nails on the south facing fence at home. I’m hoping to perhaps open the panels Out on the car roof while parked up camping. No roof tent now as I sold it yesterday for near what I paid for it.

Had to Google that one  We had an invention called the Slade, but it never really caught on, but takeaway comes with a device the kids call a spork, so no cutting blade, just a combination spoon and fork ...... was plastic, now wooden ...... they do not stand up to the pressures of use as a knife, even to cut noodles, but at least the takeaway container is now some sort of compressed paper, not styrene as they were before, the styrene ruptured when the pressure was applied to the spork, long before the noodle cut or the head of the spork folded and added wood splinters through the noodles  that were still hot as ..... what ever .... and now you had to eat them with your fingers

Possibly a tad off topic, sorry about that chief, please return to the previous topic ;)

HMM, seems it was something about circular electricity. So yes, it's followed a thread of ever increasing off topicness.
Isn't it great!!!!

OK so I disobey some time honoured traditions and laws. Like occasionally I don’t have porridge for breakfast 😱
But whatever it is the wonderful spork is always lurking somewhere in the Door bins or glove box of my car. This plastic version has had many, many uses from the corn flakes displayed as an offering to the glorious Cuillin mountains to the odd bowl or cup or saucepan of soup I’ve consumed outdoors when I couldn’t find a proper soup PLATE !
Sorry I shouted but I’m OK now,
